Is it ok to gamble with bitcoin? Last year we've seen a lot of scams and 'hacks'. Fact is that most of them are either made up by the devs or done by scammers whom use bitcoin's anonimity.
Scammers are the problem, not gambling.

Look at some dice sites, cloud mining sites that ust dissapeared with consumers money.

Since it is about money I am interested in your opintion, Is the combination of gambling and Bitcoin good?

Look at Mt. Gox. an exchange that dissapeared with consumers money. It's a problem of theft/scammers not of the service.
The combination of bitcoin and gambling is good. It would be great if transactions were even faster.

If you pick reputable service with long tradition of honest business then there is little to worry. There are wide offer of DICE, Poker and Black Jack sites which were proven to be reliable.
If you like to test the waters and check new services watch out for crazy good promotions or weird terms and conditions of service. Usually it is wise to wait a bit until you deposit btc there.

Gambling (Betting included) and Bitcoin is the future.Especially for online gambling.
It's quick, very easy in use and not much ID (if any) is needed.
This industry will grow much bigger in the future I don't know any reason what should be wrong about that.
I mean the chances of winning and losing will not change if you use credit cards or so.
So no worries as long as you know yourself where the limit is.

Totally agree , bitcoin and gambling is a perfect match.

Agree but the problem is This is gambling mate. Even any service is reputable with a long term business they keep looking for high investors/rollers. Not every honest services survive
We trust them and when we realize they are scamming its been too late
Just for example take Mt. Gox. We used to believe them a lot. But they end up by scamming us
The problem with gambling and easy money sources is that those can never be trusted

Hi Harry.

Yes i am on alert for scammers when i started gambling with bitcoins. I think that there needs to be proper companies in place that offer bitcoin as a payment option. If some of the large sites such as poker and sport betting sites globally start accepting, it will definitely help in getting new users. People are still wary of bitcoin as we know there are many scamming developers who literally run away withe the money with no intention of paying. Hopefully this will improve soon.

Yes it is ok to gamble with bitcoin.

I think there are definitely a lot of scams out there, but people should be wary. You really should not spend money you do not have, and treat it as entertainment rather than a job. Also even with gambling you should read up as much as possible and have proper money management with adequate capital, so even if you have 20% scams you have gambled on, the other 80% will more than make up for losses.

If we as an communtiy seek mass adoption, shouldn't we protect newcomers? When you came in the world of Bitcoin, were you an alert for scammers?

From what I can say if you gambling using bitcoin you just got a double earning. Lets say if you get profit 1 btc and you hold it for let say 1 week the price will be higher too. So you will nothing to lose here except your are losing on gambling Grin. But anyway why gambling will be fun because for some restricted country they dont have a chance to gamble, with bitcoin you will be anonymous so it is safe

I think bitcoin and gambling is a good combination, there are some negatives to it also.  Because bitcoin is what it is there is space for people to get away with setting up scams, taking bitcoin and having little to no comeback.

bitcon is open to people of all ages and gambling at its core is an addiction and can be very dangerous.  As a lot if not all bitcoin gambling sites have no verification this allows everyone of any age to gamble which is not always positive.

This is not gambling problem alone, it is rather general trust issue of every bitcoin based service. Mt.Gox wasn't gambling related projects at all.
It is true that there is no guarantee that your favorite casino won't go bankrupt suddenly, but as a gambler you should calculate this risk.

For gambling, i separate betting to sport and casino.
For betting to sport event, bitcoin not is good, more sport in real money have odd high to 10 from 20% .
For casino and ice, bitcoin is perfect, is only important see how you play, only affidable site, trustable member owner.
Remember , already more bookmakers and casino in real money have scammed in the story

Perfect combination Smiley as you can do it from your home, and not having to go out and get people to look at you weird for entering a casino.

Gambling at home is fun too, but I like when you go to the casino and you have a lot of cash. You go there like a boos with your money.
When you bet is just little compare the other people that they have more than you, but is actually better for me that I can control that they are not cheating.
I don't trust that much online so yeah.

In general, yes, as it introduced a new form of gambling where in you don't have to give anything about yourself; just your presence and your money will do for you to start gambling. Also, it opened up a new scene where talented devs can work on.

I think it's a lot less hassle than conventional gambling. Most bitcoin gambling sites offer instant deposit and you can just start playing right away, without having to make an account even...
Plus I like the fact that not every Bitcoin gambling site relies heavily on flash.

Yeah. There's nothing much to worry about. The risk of the owner running with your Bitcoins is very very small if you play with reputable sites like PRC and Primedice. They are very well known and would lost a lot by running with your coins. Alternatively, look for sites which uses moneypot API. They have no control of your coins and can't cheat either. Moneypot looks trusted enough. I'm not too sure with the new owners but I would trust all of them.

Yeah this is a very good point about trying to find sites that use moneypot.  Hopefully as time goes on, more online casinos will be forced to use this type of API system since it seems to be the most trust form handling money on a gambling site.  Of course, since there are only a couple sites that use this system, it's not to say that sites that don't use moneypot are scam sites; but as time goes on, there will be a need for these sites to evolve and use this API system in order to remain "credible".
