I'm a young miner that has been in the bitcoin community since 2011 and was deep into bitcoin back when the original $1000+ jumps were happening and made some money with it.. the problem is i've been away for a while and i'm having trouble finding the best miner (50Gh-100) That's power efficient and not a crazy amount so maybe with altcoins there could be a jump in value. anyone have any suggestions at todays current best power efficient miners? Thanks!

The hard part is your asking for so many things. First you mention alt coins most that are worth something are scrypt coins not sha like bit coin. So huge difference really there. After that the 50-100 GH's is kinda hard it's really in the lotto area. You could do a U3, or some compacs. The compacs will be higher but much more efficient. But neither of these will get you ROI. You really have to have decent electricity and go bigger to have chance at ROI.

I'll ignore your GH limit and your mention of Altcoins; Antminer S5, best middle ground. 1155-1300GHs, 590-640watts, at minimum 300$ per. Antminer S7, best Gh to Watt miner, 4000-5000GHs, 1200~~watts, at minimum 1500$ per. To really answer you, we need your $/kWh and your budget.

He mentioned 50gh-100 gh, I think that is for budget reasons. So hes looking in the lotto mining area as far as gear. Sadly no lotto mining ROI's. (Or very very small amount)

get a s-1 do the pencil mod run it at 140gh and use 180 watts they are cheap will only earn money if btc jumps up a lot or if you hit a block with it. i am selling three of them in the marketplace. but if you are local to new jersey we can do a meet and sell only one

50-100 GH?
*ROFLMAO*
Nothing in that TINY of a miner is going to be efficient enough to make you any money unless you have FREE electric.
Difficulties have skyrocketed since you were last active, current miners START in the multi-TH range, if you want efficient.

It's a shame Bitmain hasn't had a good home option (ie low noise) for mining that has decent efficiency since the S3.

You need a spot for miners at this point almost. You can run a Avalon 6 easier in side a room. But S7 would be hard without actually doing some sound mods. Phil has shown a good one in past. But I would not expect the miners to be any smaller. You either need to be able to get use to it, or have an area. I think it's moving from home miner to hobby miner. That is the trend I see.

I never said it had to seem like the miner had an ROI i asked for the best Gh to Wattage ratio. and the First one posted is currently the best if it runs at that wattage and Mining speed.

You asked for in part the problem is i've been away for a while and i'm having trouble finding the best miner (50Gh-100)
So that makes it in lotto range. Best price is U3 but read about zombies. Best GH to power by far is doing multiple compacs and get enough for it to reach 50. (They get 8 gh easy on running, and 16 gh easy with oc and y cable).

so you think a u3 at 1 watt per gh doing 63 gh is 1 watt. the u3 is 1 watt at the wall with a quality psu. with a shitty 80% brick it is 1.25 watts at the wall. you have to buy one from asic puppy and get the custom router + firm ware. It is not much of a bargain. . The truth is your choice to be in the range you pick of 50 to 65 gh kills most picks.

he suggested that because any other miners is too expensive, and as you said you will not make roi on anything anymore because the diff is going crazy s7 already lost 25% of its earning

Best GH/Watt ratio is currently the Spondoolies SP50 (assuming they're actually making them), but you have to be a BIG MINE to even have a chance of buying those.
Antminer S7 is next best and pretty close. Then the Avalon 6.
Then it's a LONG drop to the SP20 and S5 class gear.
The Lketc/BW.com B-Eleven should be in the same ballpark to a hair better vs. the S7 when it is released, probably in the next month or two.
Innosilicon has been talking some interesting numbers about their upcomming A3 chip, with an A3-based miner due out per their most recent talk about it probably in mid-Febuary timeframe.
There is no telling what KnC or BitFury have available right now, unless you're a MEGAfarm owner, they have announced some interesting numbers but nobody has hard data on actual performance or cost or availability on their stuff that is talking about it.
NOTHING in the under-200GH/s range is efficient by current standards except for Sidehack's "Compaq" stick - the next closest was probably the Rockbox but it didn't even match S5 efficiency IIRC, and S5 efficiency right now is getting to the point it's marginal for ANY profitability unless your electric is below-average on cost. The Compaq is a little better than the S5 if you undervolt it, but it's kinda pricy per GH like any stick miner has been.

Which is clearly out of OP's range. The closest would be a underclocked undervolted S1 at 0.9W/GH for about 80-90 GHs. The thing would probably not need any sort of fan.

OP really want's something that does not exist. The 50-60 GW range is small. Some had brought up S1 but I have a feeling that and PSU is out of budget he mentioned. We cannot make gear appear. So there is no way to really get OP what he want's. At this day and age ROI'ing in 50-60 GH range is pretty unrealistic.

Well as what the OP want's does not exist here is my idea on the closest I can get to answering the request... I would get hold of an S5 with V1.91 Hash Boards. Remove one of the boards and either sell it or put it to one side to send to sidehack when he get's his Pod Miner going, which incidently is probably the best answer to this question. So returning to the single board S5. If you run at 9V (Core voltage 0.6V) it will take 60W and will give 165GH/s with an efficiency of 0.37J/GH Note this was the result with my best single hash board V1.91, the worst took 70W giving 0.42J/GH Rich
