hi to all! i am just new here because i got a big problem: i sent btc to a wrong wallet address. actually the receiver gave me the wrong address and it was not my fault. but anyway i want to ask if there is a chance to get the btc back? or is there at least a chance to find out who the owner of the wallet is so that i can contact the owner and explain the mistake? i very much hope there is a chance because i dont want to lose them for nothing. i hope someone can help me. thanks in advance

If u don't be able to do that, it is lost. You cant send bitcoin to a random address, it need to be a valid one.

Its not easy at all to input the wrong address, if you change numbers around, it wont work.

Basically you are screwed unless you can track down the owner of this address and ask him nicely to give you the BTC back. Sadly, Its likely that you were just scammed by this user as noobies are preyed on en masse on these forums... Most of the time the nooby is either looking to scam or looking to trade.. often falling for an otherwise well known scam.
Be careful on the forums, Don't trade without escrow. Always use your head and check your addresses..!

I would assume that it is lost unless you know who owned the address and that he is willing to give it back to you.
It's not your fault. Let the guy who gave you the wrong address take the losses. Tell him to refund you. He should have figured it out himself which address is the right one and which is the false one.

I think my previous comment was ignored so i'll re-iterate in a more direct approach; It really sound like the "receiver" is just scamming OP.

You could try to contact the owner of that address if you paste that address in a search engine. This is your best bet..

Who did you send it to? Also who is " receiver" with him sending wrong address he should really take the hit and not you. If you post more about him/her you have again better luck. So hope your luck gets better but I would not hold breath on getting it sent back.

Really best way is asking but if he say's no...not much you can do. You can do as I asked and post more. He might feel bad or see how bad it looks and maybe send it back. But chances are it's gone. Once you sent it to him they are arguably his.
So hope your luck gets better but I would not hold breath on getting it sent back. [/quote]
what do you mean with post more? post more of what?
well, if i would not be left with nothing (i am really mean nothing like ZERO) i would say: whatever, be happy with what you got.
but my situation is really worse than worse. thats the bloddy fact. anyway.. there is not any luck.

You're being asked to post the address that you sent it to, or maybe post the txid? This will provide a little more information and may work to your advantage.

oh. sorry.... did not see that. ok.. the btc address where i sent: 185rNQbi542CqvJvx4V8wvELHsEioAiCjn Its a clean address that seem to have never been used before, you sent .3 BTC? Really sound like you got scammed you can see that as soon as the money was received, it was moved somewhere else. I think your "receiver" is scamming you. The balance is here now; https://blockchain.info/address/1QFE5EyF3MWBA6Vq1v4nd2m4LPzv1KemJ9

Where was this deal or transaction made? I'm assuming it was not on the forum here otherwise we would have seen you post their profile name by now.

Who was person who gave you wrong address? Do you know who own's wrong address? Those are two important questions. You keep giving part of info. If you have time to do a good post with all info it will be a lot better.
