I'm having a bad time keeping these running, so i'm wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping hardware. I'd love to trade them all for some more plug and play Antminers, at a GH loss/efficiency gain for me.

I have 3 BE Controller but they're a mess, they work most of the time but require a lot of micromagement. A board stop working, need to be replugged, then later it works, then later it doesnt work. I honestly can't tell if its because of bad boards or bad controllers. I can't manage to make it work by USB but i can give the Novak's USB UART i was given by hedgy73.

Maybe someone can make use of the USB-UART but i can't seem to.

As a refresher, here are the miner's specs;
Chips   96x ASICMiner Gen3
Hashrate   ~830GH, 920GH (OC)
Rated Voltage   12V
Rated Current   75A
Power.Consumption (at PSU)   ~900W, 1025W (OC)

Let me hear some offers? Smiley

Unplug the misbehaving board out of the loop and the rest should hash fine.

Thats what i did, but it still stop working sometimes, then start back by itself(immediately or after a few hours(yes seriously)), sometimes not.

Its not a big deal having to unplug/replug the BE Controller when it goes down but i'd rather just let someone have the <3 TH/s of these miners for their own project(and me maybe get 1TH/s of more "hand free" miners), or if they have a way to run these on a raspi or such, then these could possibly be actually good miners.

I wonder if it could be a VRM overheating issue. It's quite odd that they start back up by themselves. This reminds me of similar issues with KNC Neptune gear.

I have no idea. Today it was really hot and they worked no problem, the other day when ambient temp was 10c they acted up, same temp just before that for 2 days, no problems.

And sometime they both stop working at the same time (the controller) even though they're not connected together xD

The only thing they have in common is the pools i ran them on, so. I'd blame crap software not handling rare queries from the Pools or something.

Edit (So i'd like to receive some offers for these!)

Hmm, pools eh, what pools you run them on? Have you tried GHash.io? For some reason Tubes work best with ghash. Give that pool a try for a bit and see if they are stable.

I have been running them on BitcoinCZ, running them on Nicehash was a no go. And with the SHA256 being paid lower than standard there anyways...

So i will try GHash.io if they start acting up again. They have been running fine since i decided to go with GHash.io if they act again. They can be fine for 1-3 days (so far) so its going to be hard to tell if using that pool would really fix it.

Meanwhile i'd still trade them down hashrate wise for better efficiency because i've capped my Amp limit on my circuit. Cheers!

So, they have not crashed once since then. I am pretty disappointed, even though not having to restart them at random is also a relief.

I guess the miners are not in such a bad shape after all, but i'd really rather have a miner that can mine where i want it to mine. What a bother.

Thus i decided to leave this thread open to see if i can get some more offers for these, if not i'll just let this thread die.

I think the only problem was the pool. I know someone who had similar problems and his tubes only work on ghash.io. Kinda weird but yeah I believe you found the source of your problem.

Pretty much. Lately it seem that -ck coded in a extranonce proxy for Kano.is (for tubes), so that is much better imo than mining at GHash.io. So if some people show up here looking for a solution, we can now point them at a (imo better) alternative;

I don't know if this is a permanent socket but this is it;
URL: nonce.kano.is
port: 27181
