Theymo's evidence convinces me that email isn't from Satoshi, and gmaxwell's evidence convinces me that Craig Wright isn't Satoshi. Craig Wright was trying to start a Bitcoin bank, and if he had succeeded he would have made a worse job of it than Mark Karples made of Gox. I'm glad the community found out about his con before he had the chance to do any real damage to the Bitcoin ecosystem.

"Not this again."

I can just see whoever that is who wrote that in the e-mail face palm him/herself.  Grin

Someone smart enough to create the blockchain is not going to be stupid enough to get caught out by the U.S Government or some third rate reporter, the media need to shut the fuck up and stop pretending they know anything about Bitcoin, also, if he wants to be left alone then leave him alone.

I just hope he doesn't get too tempted into trolling everybody because then that will make him easier to trace lol.

I agree.

I suspect that, viewing the success of Bitcoin, he is out inventing something so positively great, that it will bring fiat down fast and sure.

Signature or didn't happen. The usual stuff... As said previously this is nothing without proof and email addresses can be spoofed (or stolen...)

Yes, this a million times.

I just saw this in the bitcoin Dev mailing list
Quote
I am not Craig Wright. We are all Satoshi.
http://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2015-December/011936.html

I have no idea if this is legitimate, but it was sent (supposedly) by satoshi@vistomail.com, which is the first email address that he used to post about bitcoin.

The Craig S Wright story never convinced anyone. Anyways this play brought a new momentum to bitcoin which can be most benefiting.

This is spoofed.

Code:
    Received: from mail.vistomail.com (cpe-104-231-205-87.wi.res.rr.com
     [104.231.205.87])
by smtp1.linuxfoundation.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 01BCADF
     for <bitcoin-dev@lists.linuxfoundation.org>;
     Thu, 10 Dec 2015 06:53:42 +0000 (UTC)

104.231.205.87 is not mail.vistomail.com. It's some residential IP, cpe-104-231-205-87.wi.res.rr.com.

I feel like the mailing list must be seriously misconfigured to allow this sort of spoofing... You could exploit this to send mail "from" any of the devs, for example.
I didn't check the headers, so I didn't notice this. That is very convincing that it is not Satoshi. But how can that domain name be spoofed? Does the sender set that name or is it done by the receiving server?

fuck, why do I read these threads...all the whacky theories.

The real satoshi got fucked by a group of people that took his idea and never talked to him again. Fact.

We already now that Craig Wright isn't Satoshi, Satoshi just verify it Roll Eyes
I think Craig Wright just want to be popular or part of whale group Roll Eyes

But what does "We are all Satoshi." mean? Maybe Satoshi isn't individual or it's not mail from real satoshi.

He's telling us bluntly that satoshi does not want to be known. He wants us to build up bitcoin, not him. Not does he want publicity. Give the man what he wants, satoshi or not. It's simple respect. We all know that Craig isn't satoshi. He's a wannabe. It's amazing he could stoop so low as to impersonate him. Ggwp...

Here's apparently the person who sent it, explaining how he did it.

In SMTP (the email protocol), you start your connection by saying who you are via a command like HELO bitcointalk.org ("hello, I'm bitcointalk.org"). Most servers will then check that the IP address you're connecting from actually matches the hostname you give, and if not will immediately drop the connection. But the mailing list's server is apparently really stupid, and just blindly believes that any given hostname is actually accurate. So you could tell it HELO whitehouse.gov and the server will believe that you're whitehouse.gov. Or whatever.

I think that the best way to convey nakamoto's opinion to which all believed would be a small transaction from a first address with a comment in it. But I don't think he would go for it.

Cool, does this mean we just proved that Craig/Satoshi could have sent an email designed to be intentionally discovered to be fake, thereby allowing the actual Satoshi to have sent an email designed to be determined as fake, and thereby manipulating the entire situation into even murkier waters.

According to conspiracy theorists, a guy that could develop an elaborate 3+ year hoax could do it, or of course it would be worthy of the real guy.

I love the way we keep actually proving nothing in regards to the whole Craig/Satoshi issue itself, and ignoring the claims Craig/Satoshi made in the video.  Supercomputer, Turing, etc.

I'd much rather look cool discovering maybe's!

Oh Craig mentioned turing and supercomputers on a video, I guess Milton Friedman is Satoshi too

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MnQJFEVY7s

I could point more people that went into even more specifics about something that could be Bitcoin way before 2008.

Not even close enough to be considered as an Apples to Brocolli comparison.

Craig/Satoshi has a verified Bitcoin Crunching Supercomputer that supposedly nobody knew about.   My guess is that some sort of revelations / direction is going to come out of it very shortly.  And my guess is it will basically act to grab bitcoin by the horns, and help steer it in a direction.  And my guess is that some people won't like the direction that points.  And my guess is that they will go Whaaaah!  .... or get very very angry and perhaps try and act out.

must be him

only satoshi would have his IP

in mukwonago wisconsin

haha

Speaking of Mukwonago - The depth of this rabbit hole . . . http://www.jsonline.com/business/autumn-radtkes-death-in-singapore-ruled-unnatural-raises-questions-b99222948z1-250011411.html (have always thought this was a faked death, fwiw).

Reading this article (http://www.zdnet.com/article/sgi-denies-links-with-alleged-bitcoin-founder-craig-wright/) inspired me to check out some company records:

https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/director/10854263/ramona-watts (note the nationality -- recall the jsonline.com article cited above).

Note the date of the infusion --> https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/denariuz.    Note the address of the company.  Compare date of infusion w/ infusion date here: https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/c01n. Compare amounts.

One director from c01n is US-based (Right across Los Angeles from Santa Monica, if company records are accurate) - https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/director/15870428/uyen-nguyen.  Payment company based in singapore w/ exec team in L.A.. https://www.gocoin.com/contact.  Small world.

Not sure any of it is connected or is relevant.  Undecided

He did the same thing with Durian Nakamoto last time.... And now he does it with Craig Wright.

Pretty weird IMO.

Except both times it's been pretty much proven that it wasn't Satoshi.

If Satoshi didn't reveal himself during the massive bubble, not much reason for him to make an appearance now. Wright just trying to take advantage of Satoshi's anonymity.

So I got a question; Take a peek at his Google+ page and you'll see the following on the cached version (Google's scripts or some shit blank out the page, but you can still get the source code for the page)
