This is about 16 against a 10 or A.  Where I play they don't allow to surrender, so I have to hit or stay on a 16 against a 10 or A.

I've been hitting my 16s because others suggest you have the best odds hitting, but recently I read an article online, what he wrote made sense so now I'm a bit confused. He says to never hit on a 16 because if you hit on a 16 you'll win 25.23% of the time, bust 69.31% of the time, and push 5.46% of the time for a net loss of 44.08% of the time. If you stand on 16 you win 29.01% of the time, and lose 70.99% of the time for a net loss of 41.98%. So by standing on 16 instead of taking a hit, you cut your losses by 2.1%

What do you guys say?

The page http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/strategy/4-decks/ shows the best action you can do in Blackjack. I don't have the knowledge to verify it, but according to it, you should hit if dealer stands on Soft 17 and you should stand if dealer hits on soft 17.

Black Jack, that is a game for brainiacs who count cards. If u play for like like I did for sure house will take u evey dollar from your pocket. I dont know how many times I hit that 16 or 15 or even 17, dont know how many times I stand on these numbers but house always beat me. How much money u need to have in pocket to play BJ and take something is much better question then to hit it or not on 16 when he have 10 or ace. What to do then to hit and hope for 5.

I hate it when i played blackjack i got 13,14,15 or 16 the first step is i see my opponent card

if i see he has 10 or 9 and i got 16 i will hit it but if he has 5 or 6 i will stand, but sometime i just go with my feeling

Ive already played in the realcasino and therefore i would say u never take a Card more than 16.
I also would not do an insurance if the Bank has an A or 10. Its not so usefull liek you first believe.

There is also a big chance for the Banka fter getting the Aor the 10 for an overbuy and your rescued with your 16

Actually 16 is already a good card and hope banker will busted. But so far as I can say when I stand on 16 banker will make around 18 or more it is seldom to have them busted. I dont even know how can that be possible because this is gambling and they should be lucky enough right with everytime 16 beaten by banker

For me if i got 16 against a 10 or A i alway stand, because the dealer maybe can get 2-6 even small chance. My tips for blackjack if dealer have 5/6 in the first card we can stand if  we have 12/13/14/15.

this is very difficult situations because if you hit your card it possible to get busted and banker win and if you stand banker also have bigger chance than you to win the bet because 10 or A it's a good card when you playing blackjack but i personally will take my own risk and will hit if i got 16 in my cards

if you play like that you will get blow in blackjack.. just hope banker busted and your cards point less than 19 at least i would stay to not hit a card when my cards point 17

Whatever you do, do it consistently - that way you won't second-guess yourself if you hit (or don't) and it doesn't work in your favor!

It is a hard to decide between to hit or not hit in this situation, I my self prefer to not hit since 16 is already good number on blackjack. Just hope that the banker have a bad card and busted
Not to hit when you get 16 will give you more chance, because when you have 16 and decide to hit you will be busted (mostly)

If I was you I'd definitely hit it with 16! Considering the probability of the odds working in your favor are quite low but you can always take the chances for the game and it highly depends on the type of play you're used to .I always choose to play in full action blind folded if there is that option at all.

Where did you find that article? because that doesn't match with any math I have seen before.

An important thing to realize is that when you have 16 and the dealer has 10 or ace, you are probably going to lose no matter what.

The actual odds depend on how many decks there are, and what the dealer will do on a soft 17, but I don't recall ever seeing any set of rules that makes standing in that situation better than hitting.

Hitting on a 16 vs a 10 won't "make you win" but it is still "correct" because you will lose less doing that over time than if you stay every time. 16 vs. 10 in blackjack is a bad situation, the only way to make it good is to get into your time machine and go back in time and walk away from the table before making the bet.

In some gambling situations the least bad option is the best option, this is one of them.

Damn, really?  Where do you play black jack online?  If they don't allow you to play how you want too during a tough call like that I would just gamble somewhere else... Or possibly I may just be reading this all wrong...

But I always tend to hit on a 16, but truly depends on what the dealer has.  There is always certain instances and gut feelings you tend to notice, and you just have to follow your gut when playing black jack.

Blackjack is the game with some of the best (read: least worse) odds in the casino, but you have to play perfect strategy to get those odds.

Just take a chart and follow them. They have been made after calculating things over and over again. I do think it also depends on the number of decks that are being used to build the stack (the more decks, the lower the influence of having specific cards on the table).

Find a chart that matches your casinos rules and you should be fine.

if its an ace I for sure hit no other way around it. If its a 10 you
can still hope for a bust if he has 6 or less down low so I usually
stay if a 10 and cant surrender but I always hit if they have an ace'
