they will not mine, they will attack bitcoin to steal key, but i don't see google supercomputer doing it even if in the remote case was able to do so, simply because google is already a rich company, compromising their image only to steal some coins? utterly stupid in my view, and it is the same reason why winodws 10 is somehow safe to use...

I also hear about this computer, and will be great if google really throw this computer to global market, and if they are really add some feature for mining bitcoin,i think bitcoin will more popular,so its not a threat.

The computer was made by DWave. Google helped DWave to build and find some application for the super computer.

Yes if google add bitcoin mining or at least promote the mining bitcoin bias adds a lot of people to interest with bitcoin. It is simply amazing

Well, why google even want to spy on us? and for what?
They still need to improve their web, browser, internet, etc, they isn't bothered enough to check things you are doing

That's quite a ignorant thinking pattern. For profit is the answer. Your personal details can be sold for a small sum of money, now multiply that with a few millions/billion and there you have it. I think the real threat is cloud computing
There is no threat there. Yes if google add bitcoin mining or at least promote the mining bitcoin bias adds a lot of people to interest with bitcoin. It is simply amazing
I don't see that happening. Quantum computers could be used for better purposes.

I don't think the risk is from the very first quantum computer. The risk is when a couple more are built and running, and junior scientists and technicians and so forth start getting the opportunity to utilize some of the horsepower harnessed by the QC. Some junior scientist submits a false research proposal to do protein-folding studies but really conducts a private key search, and next thing you know a bunch of private keys are compromised and the price of BTC crashes as the crook dumps a few hundred million $ worth of bitcoin on the market and then heads for a quiet island retreat. Hopefully it is not that simple. But there are already examples of students and workers at supercomputer facilities and similar institutions using their access to the computers for bitcoin mining. Using a QC to steal keys to a pseudonymous currency _will_ be done if it _can_ be done.

I really don't see why it would be a threat if Google decides to use it for mining bitcoins. If it could mine bitcoin at higher hashing power than is already out there then so be it, No harm on that on this case unless I'm missing something so I think you should STOP worrying about this so called Quantum Computer.
Well, theoretically if this were to happen you have a couple things that would happen: Bitcoin will most certainly become way more secure if they put all their power toward hashing bitcoins. But then, Bitcoin mining would be so centralized, that it's pretty much pointless for other miners to remain in/or start trying to mine with so much of bitcoins hash rate is done by Google alone. I don't know much about QC's, but it's a scary/exciting thing to think about. In fact, the centralization you are mentioning about is already happening! Mining is already controlled by large groups of miners and it is virtually impossible to get in mining at this point if it isn't with a significant ammount of investment, meaning taking a lot of risk. And so, less miners are going to keep entering the mining industry, making it dependant of a small group of powerfull miners.

You do not have to worry about with the development of computers owned by Google, so far they do not accept bitcoin, and if it happens to goggle supercomputer release, then Google will not use the computer to mine bitcoin.

When the Google supercomputer is built, it will used to crack the banking passwords first. Bitcoin passwords in low in the priority list.
