Let me share my personal thoughts about creators of bitcoin. I would like to just point out the following two observations:

1. With so big effort spent (in time, work and people) still nobody was able to clearly find out who that was - that means there must be really strong reasons to keep that unrevealed.

2. Bitcoin started / appeared pretty much right after those big banks collapse being the beginning of serious world crisis.

Now I will leave you with your own conclusions from the above two things :-) Smiley

Well some thoughts on this...

1) When you invent which we could name a "math game" that ends being worth million of dollars, it is not at all strange that you choose to be anonymous. There are lots of lotto winners and other millonaires who prefer to be so. However, it is strange that none has achieved to discover who satoshi is despite the efforts. That is true.

2) Perhaps precisely due to the big finantial crisis, some techy people just came up with the idea that the problem was centralization and ended creating this experiment which then became the Bitcoin we know.

Maybe they had their own speculations about the banks collapsing. So they started to throw out ideas on how to make their own currency and the concept on how they wanted bitcoin to be.

Sorry, I can't see your point. Are you saying that some people from those big banks which collapsed (which btw was a pretty normal and predictable event) are somehow connected with creating of Bitcoin?

If so then I don't agree. Bitcoin was created by people who are entirely opposite to those who own banks. That's just my opinion of course.

By all means, no...
I also meant the opposite, but what I think is that the collapse has triggered the initiative
What I also think is that those "people" were not just geeks...

Regarding the first thing you mentioned, they chose to hide their identity due to the fact that security risk will always be there so they rather be safe than to put their life in danger just to be known in public as it's purely the right thing to do, considering how successful bitcoin has been so far. Regarding the 2nd thing, it might be purely a coincidence that the two paths crossed each other, each shouldn't be the direct reason on which it was started or appeared.

It was basically one guy from a superrich family. He probably organized some thinkers to advise him, but he may have worked alone. Not every superrich guy is a playboy. some of them are real thinkers, just like the rest of us real thinkers. He simply didn't like the way the superrich of the world were playing the money and the people.

If they figured out who he was, they would execute/assassinate him just out of spite and revenge. Perhaps that is the reason why we don't know who he is, and why he doesn't contact us anymore. He was found out.

I don't think the creator of bitcoin have also think that bitcoin will be popular like this. I think we have to say whoever invented bitcoin as inventor of blockchain technology rather than bitcoin.

Don't you think its because those nosey people that he chose to hide?
I bet Satoshi has been replying to all these threads thinking its these guys that I wanna avoid. In his mind is that people are people, when people sense good to someone they are always good to him but when this someone makes a single one tiny mistake, this could turn into a downfall. And this is why celebs are don't just walk casually on the road.

Satoshi knew what huge potential Bitcoin has.Such a technology, disrupting several industries, of course create lots of haters from the incumbent side.Money is power! You're dealing with the biggest and most influencial people around the world here. They would make schemes how to let Satoshi disappear if they would know who he is.Even if they know Bitcoin is out of the bottle and can't be stopped anymore. They still would want to see Satoshi dead!

For number 2 I guess he/she/they were just waiting for the right moment to start Bitcoin. And what could be a better moment for a new type of money as the old system is in a big crisis?!

My guess is that Satoshi chose to remain anonymous because of all the crap. Who would want to be Satoshi and deal with crazy people and their conspiracies? It might even be dangerous. I could see some deranged, paranoid user killing him to defend against alien invasion or secret society.
It is my sincere hope that Satoshi is never outed. There is no reason to care who wrote bitcoin. Everything Satoshi wanted to say was said in the source code.

Seeing now how people react to news about Wright or other 'I am Satoshi' candidates you are absolutely right. This is madness, who in his right mind would want to take part in that?
But at that time when Satoshi disappeared bitcoin was not the popular, and we didn't know that it will be so big in the future, so Satoshi predicted this and went away? This is interesting.

I would want to stay anonymous too with all this circus around someone who's saying he's satoshi and not even the real person but an impostor.
There's so much going on with this Craig guy, imagine what would happen if the real satoshi would come out. Not worth it if you ask me.

They did not want to be known for the simple reason is that they could have been extorted!  If someone can create such a complex situation, some people would conclude that that same person may be able to break their own code to manipulate it.  They do not want to be found, so they are not.

So what you're saying is that Satoshi needs to remain anonymous or a "lone gunman" will take him out.  Wink

The thing is, you all are right saying that the success can be a reason to hide, but there is one detail here - NOW, if we know it's a success...

That time just a single guy or cryptography fun, could not have any idea that it will have such big impact on the world - it was just yet another cryptographic idea / toy / experiment...
It was not even the first e-money, and these others were "normally" published with authors etc.
It's like creating a new encryption algorithm, publishing it, and hiding its origin from the public "just for case"...

Of course it really could be a random case that for some reason it stayed unknown or initially unpopular, which later turned to be "useful" to hide from unexpected success.
The second thing - time of creation - could also obviously be just a timing coincident.

But how about both those facts "coincidenting" together ??
Just too much randomness here  Smiley

I don't think we ever have to worry about Satoshi releasing personal information about himself to the public. As you say, there are a lot crazy people out there that are capable of doing anything, not even to mention governments that might even do harm to him for being the creator of something that might even crush the financial industry at some point in the future.

From what has been posted previously both Satoshi's posts and that of others, he was very careful about his identity, for example he used TOR to logon here.

I don't think Satoshi was a banker. The collapse of banks may have been the reason for bitcoin development.

Don't know about that since Bitcoins came out very fast after the collapse.
