So I was having some fun reading old stuff from the forums trying to learn who was around back in the day, I went in the members section and ordered the nicknames in increasing rate of registration order to see who the first people that registered here were:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist;sort=registered;start=0

Funny to see some random newbies that only made a post. Anyway, what I don't get is the fact that I can't seem to find satoshi and he should show up the third

Date Registered:    November 19, 2009, 07:12:39 PM

First one was "admin" which was also satoshi?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1

Profile number 2 was deleted, who was number 2?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2

Just curious  Tongue

Firstly remember, we don't know that Satoshi is the real name of creator of bitcoin or not.

And

1. The profile 1 (admin) was might be just created to test this forum.

2. The profile 2 (which is deleted) might be (accidently) created  with the real name of creator of bitcoin? So he/she deleted that account.

3. The profile 3 (satoshi) was created to introduce him/herself as their name?

Who knows?

I think a lot of accounts got locked after that hack a while back.  Accounts like Mt. Gox was active and had some hacker trolling board. They were getting on a lot of old special accounts and causing trouble.

That is why we no longer can reset by security word.  If you do it the account locks.  So sadly the locking of a lot of accounts was needed after that hack. (And I could be wrong but I think that last hack had a pretty big factor in some accounts being locked).

Maybe he didn't want to be found there and removed himself from that list. Or theymos could have made that change.

It was locked before that, I think even before his email was hacked. Anyone 'revealing' themselves on the Satoshi account would be 99% fake but could still cause immediate and significant financial damage. Ie short sell bitcoin, hack Satoshi account, post "You all disappoint me. I am selling everything now."

It must have been manually removed from the list by theymos. I know satoshi's account was locked a while ago but not sure why it needs to be removed from the memberlist (unless it needed to be to lock it adequately).

I doubt profile 2 was Satoshi using his real name, that makes no sense to be honest. He released the whitepaper with a pseudonym and he never posted anywhere withotu any other name but satoshi or satoshi nakamoto. It could have been a test or for all we know someone who decided that they wanted to get their account deleted (maybe an early super whale that didn't want the attention).

In fact there is many deleted accounts, one day i get bored and tested many members links from 1 to 3x then randomly, i remember i found at least 6 apart from number 2 which i don't think it was a test account.
Since i am bored today too here is an example: number 5-7-8-9...etc all deleted, dunno if their owners requested to delete their accounts since it was possible before.

Hm that's interesting. There are probably quite a few interesting bits of information in the forums early history. Presumably some of the deleted accounts were linked to information, evaluated as too sensitive.
