I will be wondering how close we will get to nubbin's sale of 14BTC, or if it will exceed it.

Best of luck to the winner.

A small correction:

Just wanted to let my esteemed colleagues know that we've got a new public high for a 2013 Casascius 0.5 BTC Series-2 Silver, 15 BTC.

The purchaser also elected to have the PGP chain of custody extended for an additional 1 BTC

Hot coins, crazy market.

No longer buying/selling Casascius coins. Beware scammers.

It seems as those these coins tend to max out at 10BTC when selling at auction.

My max bid was 10BTC - 10.25BTC...so I am out.

Excuse me of being a noob in Casascius coins, but does it come with the PGP chain of custody? I see that you're the first owner so that's doable, right? I'm at the verge of bidding...

I am the first owner, so if Mike still responds to those requests after such long delay, I am glad to set that up. I hesitated to mention it only because I had not already set that up, and didn't want to be making promises.

But I'll be happy to take any reasonable steps to ensure / enhance the value for the buyer.

Actually, come to think of it, I'm not sure OP is in fact the original owner.

There were only 45 of these made, I had 12, I know of another (since-banned) forum user who had 12, and I know of another forum user who had 9. That leaves one full roll of 12 left over, and someone who claimed to be the mystery third owner sent me a PM recently.

OP, did you purchase a full roll or just one coin?

I purchased one single coin, directly from Mike through the website. Why are you asking this only now?!

I realize this isn't ironclad proof, but since the hour is late I again point to my blog post from July 2013 in which i talk about this coin:
http://object2212.com/?p=1

That should count for at least something. If any one needs more proof of first ownership, I do have the emails from Mike.

I tried to bid 10.8 before 8:01 but got the following error:

The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again later. The thing you were trying to post was saved as a draft. This limit decreases substantially as your account becomes more established.

I could not post, but I definitely hit submit before 8:01.

either way I thought the auction ended at 8pm as outlined in the original post?

Little frustrated because of the forums limits on my account.  I took a screenshot of the error, of course 5 seconds after my clock turned to 8:01 (I hit submit at 8:00:50)

Sniping: Last-minute bids will cause the auction end time to be extended so that the auction ends 30 minutes after the last bid.

It's still going on.

Gotcha, thanks for the confirmation. Just realized that Mike didn't automatically include his signed statement with each and every purchase.

We are now in overtime, and each bid adds 30 minutes to the clock. The current high bid is 10.9 BTC and the current end time is 8:40 pm EST
