I don't think bitcoins have a good futur. Not much people use them and there is no real use for these people. The problem is that the people that doesn't use it is the majority of the planet. And you, what do you think about this? Will bitcoins have a glorious future or a realy bad one?

I don't think that it will ever disappear, because there's a lot of money to be made, even if you counter out all the advantages it has as a currency, and a point of value media. Another point is that it's also the very first crypto currency, and that it's decentralized - so it can't be controlled or simply shut down.

Just because most people don't use bitcoin now doesn't mean they won't use bitcoin later. Sure, I believe that bitcoin won't really ever grow out of the stereotype that only people who use the Internet often use bitcoin, but I'm positive that bitcoin will expand to many, many more people. Merchants are sometimes pressured by clients to accept bitcoin, and sometimes the merchants themselves begin to accept bitcoin because of the fact that there is a wide audience of bitcoin-ers. Plus, there are plenty of people who think that the concept and details of bitcoin are highly interesting and then get into bitcoin like that (such as me).

Not IMO. Definitely not going to disappear, as the bitcoin network and the code will always be there and open.
But unused? Still very, very slim chance. I wouldn't say it's going to become unused, it's almost impossible. Take a look at something like credit cards or cash. Many years pass and they are still used.

It depends how you define "use". If you define "use" as a way of stroing your money, like gold today for example, than it will be used. But for everyday to day transactions in your grosser store or petrol station it might not be very useful due to 10 min or more, confirmation time.

I am, by nature, a pessimist and everything will become nothing in the end, including bitcoin. I know that all those altcoins I see on Cryptsy and Yobit are going to bite the dust at some point--and I'd bet money that that's going to happen well before bitcoin bites it. Entropy always wins out in the end. Always.

Probably not. Bitcoin is yet in it's development state. It has so much more to go through and just look at the rising rate of the people who uses bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still in it's infancy, i would say that we need to give it at least another 10 years to mature. there are still a lot of issues that need to be sorted before we will see main stream adoption.

Well if you are in here I assume you have hope for Bitcoin for the long term, otherwise you are probably at the wrong place. Most people that are here but are negative about the outcome of Bitcoin are usually FUD trolls in the speculation section. Everyone here that has done its research knows that Bitcoin has a very bright future and it's only getting better day by day.

It will never disappear, there is a possibility it will become unused in the future but I only think this because there is a chance it will be succeeded by a more refined/adopted version of blockchain technology.

I think it will be around for a while. A lot of people even miners in the early days didn't expect it to go this far and become worth this much. Many sold way too early. Today, the future looks greater for bitcoin than it did 5 years ago. (I wasn't into it then. I wish I was, of course). I think there is a promising future for cyrptocurrencies. As far amounts of coins being unused, that can only happen in addresses with lost keys, and as the value increases people will be far more careful about not losing them. Even if half get lost, there will still be plenty to go around and they will be worth more so I don't see it as an issue. Unless some major security issue that makes stealing them easy, massive scams, or wild price fluctuations that cause people to lose confidence in the coin, I think they have a long and bright future.
There are some people in other areas of this forum that are very negative. One person in particular comes to mind. I don't like calling people out, it's usually against TOS anyway. I have to wonder why they invest so much of their time spreading lies about certain things, claiming unfounded rumors as true, etc. etc. about bitcoin. It's strange. There are some legitimate concerns, but when you can tell they are being disingenuous, they have an agenda.

In the future, bitcoin will definitely very successful. I agree that it will have a good future. and it will never disappear. As of now. a lot of people doesnt know about it. because their closing their minds about it. almost all of them that it is just some scam in the internet etc. as i do think before. but bitcoin now is really growing in community day by day. people are afraid of what they dont know as they criticize it. But once people open their minds. they will definitely accept it. especially the young ones who is very active in the internet on this days.

In my opinion I think yes, but I think it is still far from happening,
bitcoin now still rising and the existence has become more and more stable and famous and I think in this few years it will be a golden era for bitcoin
But in 20 years later I think bitcoin exchange can be very low, this will lead to more people using it if less people using it it will become extinct one day, or maybe currency can be replaced by other coin and maybe can be deleted or banned by government

I would like to make a prediction but it is pretty early to tell. The uncertainty and the rate at which it is expanding is pretty incredible. Who knows what the future holds.

I guess it all will never happen. because the BTC is a currency that is very special and the fees charged for the transaction is very affordable compared to Bank charges. and BTC can be used anywhere in any country as long as the network

The chances are less. Because the rotation is happening one way or another. So it goes up without any problem.

If the community can not reach consensus for many things and there is no active development of the infrastructure, bitcoin will disappear. Otherwise, it has great future.

The longer they are about and the more adoption they get then the more websites will start to accept them. If anything they should start to become more common in everyday life.
