Hello,
I have a friend who runs an online business, and wants to accept bitcoin. Can someone point me to some information on this?
Installation, security etc. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll check it out. For some reason I just thought there were some scripts to add.

It's simple to use bitcoin from any programming language.  However, security can be hard to get right and funds must be segregated from the web server, preferably with the addresses being generated offline and kept offline (only signed and unsigned transactions cross the airgap).  Or pay the pros for simple scripts and direct to bank usd for whatever percentage of btc revenue you want).

For new merchants, seems safest to use payment processors, until the B world comes out of beta.  Cheesy

Thanks guys, all good replies.
I found the wiki on it, and have a bunch of pages open, and about to read.
Checking out walletbit and weusecoins link.

I took a quick look at bitpay, and it looks pretty costly.
It's either 1%, or they charge 4% for a deposit to bank account.
Little on the pricy side imo, especially for pricier items with lower profits.
Say you sell a $1000 item and make $100 profit, you're losing $40
from that $100 right off the bat. 4% Canada, 2.69% for US though. And
they charge daily, with a minimum of $20.

**** Walletbit is better at 2.69% and that includes deposit.
But with a $15 minimum fee. So if you're looking to transfer $1000, it's going
to cost $26.90, including deposit.

www.bitcoinpayflow.com seems free. I don't entirely understand how it works though.
I think I'd need a programmer to make it function properly.

http://bitcoinevolution.com is free as well. Don't know how secure these ones would be
though.

https://merchant.bitutils.com/
charges .5% then deposits to mtgox or wherever you want.
So on $1000 you're looking at $30, $5+$25.
mtgox charges $25 per international wire transfer as well.

If I go with say a $3000 withdrawl...
Walletbit would be $80.70
bitutils would be $15 + $25 deposit fee so, $40. $13.33 per $1000.

(Sorry, just talking to myself in this thread!)

Which exchangers have cheapest transfer fees? More so to Canada. I'm guessing
bank fees are probably $20 minimum, so my guess would be $20 would be the cheapest.
