The best and most secure way is using escrow. You can find many members (including me) doing it for free or a small fee.

If you gonna use non reversible type of payment processor than using localbitcoins would be fine.

The only way is to use third party as a middleman - or as we call it escrow. There is no other way to secure conduct trades where both parties are unknown.

If you think you trading partner is Trustworthy enough you can always try to go first, but don't do that ever if you are dealing with newbie account.

no matter how trusted some one may look, it's better to use an escrow if you feel that it is better for you. that way you avoid the risk of being scammed. better safe than sorry.

How do we define the trusted escrew? How long should they on the market to be trusted? All the escrow service start from 0.

If you are exchanging altcoin the answer is simple. Do not trade with people, trade at an exchange. It is a much faster and efficient way of trading as well as eliminating the risk of being scammed.

There is a list of trusted escrows that are trusted because they have done many trades in the past and have good feedback from those trades.

Have you seen the amount of exchanges that have exit scammed over the past few years? This is faulty logic. otc and p2p trades work just fine when you use your head for something other than to weigh your body down.

Escrow is cheap and/or free here. Over time I have built up some good contacts that I feel completely comfortable trading with.

Escrow or in person. When dealing with decentralized currency that's just one of the trade-offs that has to happen
