because people are making dollars out of bitcoins in order to get money to buy presents

Did you see how much the price went down? Can't be due to people who are buying Christmas gifts. What gifts are they giving, cars? It's simply manipulation by wealthy traders. Not because people are selling to buy stuff.

I don't think people will buy christmas presents with bitcoin on the second day of christmas. They would never have their presents in house :S
Buying presents of NYE could be, but i think the real reason was some big whales selling their coins.

That was a fall by any standards. $40 within a few hours.
There can be many reasons but the most likely is someone who helped the price along last few weeks wanted to cashout more than people wanted to buy which obviously gave us the drop. It has gone kind of steady at $420's but guess we'll see what its to be.
