Your predictions for 2016

It was great that we had such a stable period, for such a long time. All those people saying that Bitcoin would never be able to reach a long period of time with a stable price have been proven wrong, but those days are over. Soon we will go through the next phase, which means we are going 4 figures and beyond, so the time to stack up on cheap BTC while the price is cheap and stable are coming to an end.

What's soon for you? I really can't see anything that indicates that we'll see 4 figure prices within 1 or even 2 years.

In my opinion it is natural growth, and it is the best for Bitcoin. Pump & dumps makes that are coming "newbies" who want earn easy and fast money.. This technology don't need that. Slowly, but stable growing is the best for Bitcoin.

I see lots of things happening.

1) Side chains
2) Lightning network (solving all the scaling issues)
3) New type of signatures like schnorr, making it easier to scale and more anonymous
4) Better anonymity with CoinJoin and Confidential Transactions
5) Big players already jumping in (Steam)

I will only predict the price will not be much like last year. but perhaps the end of 2016 we can at least reach 600 because the effect of halving.

Bitcoin will have not the best year in this year and that is because the value keeps stable for a long time and that is bad because many people wants to make profit.
And that is now not possible for them and that must change soon otherwise they cant make profit with it,

We are having plenty of time remaining within this year. So, there are lot of possibilities we can expect to make this year as a year of bitcoin. My prediction for 2016 would be, we are going to see new all time high price for bitcoins this year.

You are right there are enough time even after that occurrence of halving to make this year most of the rememberable. Maybe we are going to see bitcoin prices will hit $2000 price levels also within this year.

What makes you think we will see +$1000 prices? Usually people say the price will increase due to the block halving but not in this case. There is literally nothing that indicates the price will go that high this year. Not even to $700.

Even without a pump the price is rising ~1$/day on the longterm trendline, so 600 - 700 $ should be possible even with this linear growth. And a pump will occur sooner or later.  Implementation of Segwit+Lightening will be a huge milesone, because this is a real scaling solution. Just setting the blocksize higher, like some propose, is not scaling.

only big sudden rises require a pump. the current slow rise mostly shows the demand and the buy support for bitcoin. and also this comes from the increasing popularity which leads to the adoption of bitcoin over time which is growing.

I will say that in 2016 the price will have a great success, it will start to increase faster in the month of june and in july when halving will occurr it will cross $700 and will reach to $100 and after that it will be around that till the end of this year.

For me reaching a price of 600 would be both realistic and very high. A year ago bitcoin was dangling around 250 dollars, just wee what has happened  the past year.

It would be not the best year that Bitcoin can have and that is because it has to rise also and that is not happening now so that is not the best thing that can happen with Bitcoin.
But I think it will be better next year and that would be also better for the people with Bitcoin.

The only thing that I can predict for 2016 is that the price is going to hit $500. I do not know if it is going to be any higher this year. Bitcoin is hard to predict when you are trying to predict far in the future.

Now with the increase in the price bitcoin might continue to reach $500 within the end or middle of this month. If we were near or over $500 when near the days of halving, surely will reach $650-$800 after halving. If this happens we can experience a price around $900 by the end of 2016.

Yes. My prediction also like we are going to see $1000 price levels at the end of this year. Most probably within the first quarter of 2017, we are going to see new lifetime price for bitcoin, that would be a next big wave to take bitcoins to $2000.

There will not be any need of bumping of bitcoin prices. There are lot of supportive news and events (like halving) to make bitcoin prices to reach $1000 price levels.

If the price rises slowly to $1000, it will hold there.

But, there are less possibilities for staying there stable. In my view, will keep on rising towards $2000 price levels.

You are right. In my speculation the upcoming halving only is more than enough to make bitcoin prices to hit again $1000 price levels. This halving will definitely bring more investors to adopt bitcoins as an investment vehicle.

2016 is far from being over. There is still plenty of time, especially in Bitcoin terms, for both positive and negative price developments. I keep my forecast for 2016, that is, $500-600 as the top range, as there was nothing fundamentally important that has changed recently. We are currently in the same place we were last November (where the last pump happened) and we all remember what happen afterwards.

$700 is possible now as it has already crossed $500 so this price is pretty achievable and if that is the price at halving then we can expect price of $800 at the end of the year.
