So far, there is not big pump and dump of the bitcoin, the price is quite stable. That is good for the adoption.
Current horizontal trend has absolutely zero influence on the adoption. Adoption depends on the development efforts and for now we have heard very little about it in 2016. It is all about halving, which proves that for now the main driving force behind price movement is speculation. Adoption has to wait yet.

It helps adoption to have a very stable price! It's very hard to encourage people investing in btc when you can't even tell them how much one btc is worth because price changes by 15% every day xD

BTC/USD volatility right now is at near-record lows, easily comparable to USD/EUR, yet BTC adoption is nowhere near matching EUR adoption. BTC/USD volatility is less than XAU/USD volatility - yet gold somehow seems to be quite popular. Price has been ridiculously stable for several months. Has there been a marked change in levels of adoption? (Genuine question - I had a quick look and saw nothing, but extrapolating adoption levels from various metrics is not my strong point).

Yes it is and the reason is because the value is for a long time stable and many people dont like that because they all want to make some profit with it and that is quite logic. To make profit with Bitcoin is the main reason why they are using Bitcoin so it must be higher soon for Bitcoin, otherwise people will get mad and that is bad.

That is exactly what I wrote. Adoption has to be addressed by the appropriate development actions and that is the only way to go. Current price action has very little to do with adoption.

I don't understand how anyone that has any knowledge would have said this. Everyone knew that 2016 would be fantastic year for bitcoin, lots of technical improvements and a guaranteed price rise. Only the biggest FUDsters and in general idiots would think 2016 will not be a fantastic bitcoin year.

2016 will not be a boring year at all, I even think it will be a very good year for us all, we can make profit for sure. The bitcoin is also growing in users and stores so that makes it even better.

Which technical improvements you have particularly in mind? It is end of April and for now nothing happened in that regard.

I would wait for the next dump before adding more. I guess no more big dump would come in the next time, in my opinion all trader are worried if they dump a price then another person would take it the advantage for buy more bitcoin before halving.

It already takes too long, and we are still in the phase of talks, rather than implementing changes.

The bitcoin price is staying for few weeks at $400 - $425 and there is not high pump or dump, i don't think that 2016 will be boring for bitcoin, on the contrary i think that 2016 will be very interesting because of the halving.
well at least now it is really boring from my point of wiev, there are no increases or decreases of price thus the price is not moving at all and its boring for me in my opinion it would be better if the price started growing already as theres not much time left before the halving what means that we need to attract more investors to bitcoin Well currently is not happening anything innovative or something new in the cryptocurrency industry, when ethereum was on the top of its success the bitcoin started decreasing its value, so something should happen to be a reason why the bitcoin price will be increased, the July is coming and i think that people will prepare to buy more bitcoins before halving. Yes majority of the people are buying at a moment as the price is comparatively low and we might see higher price at the time of halving occurring after 3 months. The price of bitcoin for less than a month has been increased good up to 410€, i think the buy trends is keeping increasing because of the halving.

Right now everything is indeed concentrated at the block halving but this won't last long as the block halving won't last endlessly. Once the block halving has been completed people must point their focus on something else.

Well it's been semi-boring so far, but we're only in late April--the halving is coming. We'll see if that's going to explode the price or not. And man, if I had money I'd be buying bitcoin. Alas I don't.

I also think that this year the price of bitcoin will remain more stable than most people usually think, and this is a good think because this way we will demonstrate to bitcoin detractors that this new currency can be gradually less volatile and more stable.

Maybe a few market movements, but I don't expect much excitement within the market this year. As long as you are positive about it though, then you're having all the fun you need.

The wise people will not leave bitcoin just because there is not much going on with its price there are still a lot of people who trust in the coins. For them all the rise in price will come at the Halving
