I know it may seem a bit like spam but I make nothing on this.  Plus a lot of people are looking to use 120 volt power  this is a solid fix for them. So at mods please leave it up for a while

Okay usa Newegg for a few more days. 12/31/2015

The newer s-7's are pulling more then 1400 watts so people are having issues getting a good 120 volt fix.

I found 2 psus at newegg.

about 170 usd after rebate

both get a 30 dollar rebate so the

 750 watts = 95- 30 or 65 usd
1000 watts - 135-30 or 105 usd   total = 170 usd

use the 750 to run the controller and 1 board
use the 1000 to run the other 2 boards.

use 2 power strips to the same 20 amp line 120 volt line  or 2 power strips to 2 15 amp 120 volt lines.

Have all power off plug in everything    then turn the 750 watt on first and the  1000 watt on second.



turn the 1000 watt running 2 boards on first

then turn the 750 watt on running 1 board and the controller second


do a software configuration like freq ? not sure what batch so freq ?        and do the fan at 61%

check hashing    good to go.

gold psu's giving a max of 1750 watts for 170 usd after rebates  that is really fucking good.

the 750 watter would do 1 board and controller with 4 cables


the 1000 watter would do 2 boards with 6 cables

Slight correction to your instructions...

Controller must be powered on last when using multiple PSUs, so in your example you'd turn the 1000w PSU on first and then the 750w PSU last.

Edit: It should also be noted that these are from a new lineup that seems to have moved away from the amazing Leadex OEM platform that we all know and love. Until more details are out there (particularly, a jonnyguru review showing the innards and who the OEM is) I'd stick with the known quality of the Leadex based G2 series.

1600 t2   are all really expensive

I run 1300W DC on my 1300 g2 fine actually, but the problem is that the efficiency drop further at 100% load, which cause a higher draw than the 80% safe limit of a 15a120v circuit. The load come up to about 1480W~ which feel wasteful/troublesome to me and the surge protectors do not seem to like 1440W+ loads.

By doing a bit of math, with a dual GPU solution, it is fairly easy to keep the GPU load at optimal efficiency, which would mean a draw of 1420W. No headroom for any OC, but you get a bit of psychological breathing room for not melting your wiring.

I suppose if you have 20A 120V circuit this would not be a problem if you do not mind 88%~ efficiency instead of 91%~ since the power remain otherwise clean and stable.

It's a fantastic deal, no doubt better than getting 1 1600w G2.

I did some digging, these GQ units are built by FSP instead of leadex and are of a lesser but still good quality than G2 units. There are reviews for the 650w and 850w units up on jonnyguru.

1237w DC for B8, 4.7TH/s would be pretty fine for me. I worried because it says just under 1300W DC on their page.

That's right, I got confused. Superflower is the OEM, ie the company that builds the PSUs and sells them to EVGA. Leadex is their current high end platform upon which the G2s are built. They go up to a massive 2000w ATX in Europe due to their having 240v standard, and the platform is limited to 1600w in NA because of our lower 120v.

Yeah This is great.  the evga series g2 is awesome.  go check out johny guru reviews for psu's and you'll see why.  I wish I had done this.  Instead I bought a 1600w evga, which was more expensive.  On the other hand, it has a 10 year warranty and I can use it for anything I need to.  worst case scenario it would be an overpowered psu for my computer.  then I would have to buy massive video cards to justify the psu....poor wallet.

Yeah This is great.  the evga series g2 is awesome.  go check out johny guru reviews for psu's and you'll see why.  I wish I had done this.  Instead I bought a 1600w evga, which was more expensive.  On the other hand, it has a 10 year warranty and I can use it for anything I need to.  worst case scenario it would be an overpowered psu for my computer.  then I would have to buy massive video cards to justify the psu....poor wallet.

You'd need something like quad dual GPU to use that mush power, even though efficiency wise it would be best to run the PSU at 50~70% ^_^".

My irk with the 1600 G2 is that a 1300 G2 cap out a 120v15a breaker, so the upside of the 1600G2 is that it would be slightly more efficient, though a 1300 P2 would be better and cheaper. The problem is that the 1300 P2 does not exist, there is only a 1200 P2.

Its like the whole thing is rigged from the start to milk as much money as possible from us, even though we're being milked by different sources. :S


If you do that, maybe get one 750w for the one that will power the controllers+fan. But honestly that is a lot of PSU space next to one Small S7.
