Philip, if I forgo testing of units by you, Anyway to get my 3 units out UPS ground today? I think post office is closed Monday (holiday), but UPS should be running and I am going out of town Tuesday night for a week. Would like to get these installed and running before I leave. If not, thats OK but just wanted to ask.

Maybe have a label printed when UPS shows up to deliver and just label 3 boxes and have the driver take it? just a thought?

I want to thank everyone, especially Phil, for the Group Buy.  I will actually have enough machines to allow people to purchase direct from me for low number units like 1-4 and prevent the need for group buys.  I will have 80-100 units in hand next week (including what I have previously bought)

My idea behind doing this Group Buy and selling them in the future is to promote Home Mining and not to make money.  I will sell them for exactly what I pay.

I just setup test bed for gear.
This test bed will have 1 working ibm 2980 watt psu with a finksy/j4bberwock break out board and the brilliant kilo17 cooling mod
I only have 1 breakout board so I can do 2 or 3  avalon6's
If I had 2 breakout boards I could do 5 or 6 avalon6's

first step
this is to keep psu's steady with fan.




put pad in between psu's



fan is spliced to a yellow pcie cable
so far on load less setup fan and psu run




rack and setup should handle 5 avalon6's

the pdu can do 24 amps the two psu's can do 12 amps
I am pretty sure 5 units would work maybe 6 units with a little under clock

 look at this shot of pulled stock fans wait for it
these are all the same and would use 60 watts a 3 pack 120 watts total

the blue on the right come from the 2880 watt psu

the black on the left come from  the newer better 2980 watt psu

kilo17 uses a spliced in bag as white fan that use 25 watts so with 2 psus you save 95-100 watts

this mod allows the high efficient 2980 watt server to run in the house  with out insane noise.

here is the fan splice in. I used a one ended  yellow pcie cable so the fan is at full speed (it is so much quieter then the stock fans full speed is fine)





two sets of stock screaming fans  blue is from the 2880 and black is from the 2980
same fans different mount system



power hungry 1 fan is 1.68 amps about 20 watts so a stock 3 pack is 60  and 2 three packs are 120 watts.  kilo's fan is 20-25 watts





so you can see what this single rack looks like  you could run 5 avalon6's say 18th. maybe 6 but under clocked say 20th

 quiet  you need 240 volts and a 30 amp circuit breaker.

you could do this near a door like in the photos. noise would be decent with underclock

Nice! Once I sell my S5s I should be back for another 2-3. Have some of the 2000 waters coming my way and going to run Jabbers BB overvolted to 12.55 and can't wait. Almost tempted to make the drive from Md to come get it. What it's only a couple of hours lol jk...

So far five units fired up and hash.

2 rasp pi,s work fine.

The only doa item was a four pin cable but if you are the guy that got a shit cable you would be annoyed.

Yan was smart and sent me 13 four pin cables.

At ppoc I will mine for you for the 6-7 days.

I am now doing a 1 hour test for thesmokingman

looks good at night  note 7.9 amps is running 2 machines  7.9 x 240 volts = 1896 watts   I expect 6700 hash and a watt to gh of .285

I did better  6758  at 1896 watts = 0.2805 watt per gh  those are really good




in order to test correctly  I added my avalon to the test.

so this tests
1) power supply
2) usb cable to rasp pi
3) rasp pi
4) usb cable from rasp pi to blue adapter
5) blue adapter
6) four pi cable
6) avalon 6
7)  the ability to daisychain to a second unit

here are first results

I will post a screenshot in an hour then pack this setup and move to next one.

very good numbers  the amps were 7.6  so 7.6 x 240 = 1824  hash was 6670   that is 0.273 watts a gh.



next is kipper01  I will point it at cksolopool for 1 hour I will use my btc addy if it hits I will make sure kipper01 gets more then ½ of it.

look left at my ip scanner.  the bottom one was just removed it was 192.168.0.113 my program needs to be turn off then on to rescan

now 192.168.0.114 comes up

next is borachinua

So far 1 dead four pin cable and a suspect blue adapter.  fortunately   I am daisy chaining my 3 so I will send my blue adapter to PPOC when I ship to him.

I need cold weather as I am running 3 and PPOC has three = 6 or about 6k watts  which I  can do in the winter.

Oh I learn a thing about about my pdu's :

   left side 4 plugs has a 20 amp fuse 
right  side 4 plugs has a 20 amp fuse

so don't put 4 psus on the left or the right  do two and two

Lowes had replacements  lost time with that.
