*** PLEASE STOP MINING ***

Bittrex hasn't updated their wallet yet, and if we reach block 630000 before they do, we'll be in trouble.

Thanks!

I'm afraid not everyone is reading this thread and while slowly, but blocks are coming in.

Bittrex should disable their J wallet until they upgrade. I've sent a PM to Richie but I'm not sure he'll respond.

trex wallet on maintenance, thanks

Yeah, awesome, so I guess Richie read my pm and acted.

We're 215 blocks ahead of the fork block and as far I can see everyting's fine and working as intended - at least on my end.

Bittrex will probably upgrade in a day or so.

So what does the fork do? Link to Github?

It's on the last page. It increases the block reward from 0 J to 1 J (after a period of 2 J per block) as otherwise nobody would mine it.

Nice to see that most of my wallet peers are on the new version :-)

For me only about 40% is on 1.3.2 and the rest is on 1.3.0.

You know way more than me so I'll just ask, shouldn't a new version refuse connections to old wallets?

Yes we can do it on the next version, I'd wait at least some weeks before doing it.

is it to update the wallet or are they even going to agree to keep it listed with the changes?

I think they'll update it, but till they do we can't be sure.

There's no reason for them to remove it so I guess it will just take a while.

Doesn't really matter that much as they disabled it just before we sailed smoothly beyond the fork block. So no wrong fork, not lost transactions, etc, we just have to wait a bit longer.

oh shit, why POS for Joincoin, is there any need ?

pos should be a priority.

pow is a dying blockchain and the miners hate pos because they are greedy computer geeks.

Emission for each algo is like $20 per day total if you get it all. Totally not worth mining unless you are the only person mining this coin. Blockreward is just too low to support mining in any meaningful extent. It's been that way since the reward dropped to 1 and then none.

Just as a FYI PoS is mining by leaving a wallet open instead of by using GPUs. There is still a reward for doing so otherwise the coins would definitely die. PoS coins can also die as well if people don't leave their wallets open.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

check zpool.ca and pinch yourself.

as per POS - the devil hides in details: coding / wallet behavior, tricky balance of holders/newcomers interests etc.

Why would I check zpool? I've mined this to my wallet solo. Zpool rates aren't remotely close and they skim 20-30% of your earnings.

Although here. Zpool mined NIST5, received 124 blocks in the last 24 hours. That's roughly $12.40 TOTAL for the whole pool. Each block is 1 J and each J is $.114

i believe this would be a great coin to go pos.   here is the specs i would love to see

1   5% yearly
2   the only coins that could pos in a wallet have to be pow mined by that wallet

i think you all get it electricity and hardware is too expensive to waste it on a pos coin
