If the app is in apple appstore then the app should be safe as apple has strict rules for an app to be approved in appstore, but if it is in playstore the app should be old because even if it is there it can be infected, no pm received yet from OP.

Scan file properly before download. I know V lace has a fine history and wont spread virus but taking protective measures dont cost you and save you from future trouble. I have been myself a victim of this and I understand how much it hurts when a virus overtakes you.
