How long until we can trade a house for a single bitcoin??

1 year, 2 years, 3 years?? What do you think about it?

Why would you try and trade your house in  for just one Bitcoin. I never believe that just one Bitcoin is going to be worth more then a whole house in the future.
Do not do this because you will regret it.

I can say you right now that I would never trade a whole house for only one Bitcoin because it is not the smartest thing to do.
I also do think that the Bitcoin is never going to be worth as much as a house.

Maybe a dog house, but let us get serious and realistic here. With the current amount of bitcoins the value cannot even buy a simple house. Let us just hope in the near future this thread is still alive and the price of bitcoin will increase substantially so I can say we can trade a house with 1 BTC.

lol you are right. But OP here, discussing about the future value of bitcoin like when one bitcoin will have huge value that will be more than enough to buy a house.
It is a kind of speculation, if you are having one bitcoin you will be able to buy you home for you. That will be very big achievement of bitcoin if bitcoin enables us to buy a house with it it, too for only one bitcoin.

I'm not sure how much houses costs where do you live , but here you can get more then a decent apartment for like 80k $ , Now the question is .. can bitcoin reach that amount ? . It's likely to happen ? definitely not but everything can happens so we can expect everything on the next 20 years .

Wow. A decent house over here is over a million bucks, if you want to stay near the CBD. Otherwise 800k will suffice.

For me, I doubt this will ever become a reality, but in some countries it may already have happened.

In theory, you could do so now if you were in a bind with taxes and wanted to create a capital loss to detect from your taxes. I'm not sure how well that would work in practice though, since you don't see people selling houses for a fiat dollar anymore.

I would never trade in my whole house for just one Bitcoin because first of all I would never think that one Bitcoin is going to worth the same as a house.

No one will surely do that since it was totally insane thoughs for a person to trade his house for only 1 btc, not unless if his house is to little and only 1 person can occupied for it. And even if bitcoin would cost millions i would still not sell it siNce i would take bitcoin seriously and came to the point that i risk my asset just for this thing it could turn us homeless if bitcoin would go down.

I do believe this question is about when bitcoin reach bigger ammounts, as some people do expect bitcoin to reach and crosss over 5000-10000 dollars, on that time it might be possible, atleast where i do live for those ammounts i could get a small house.

Maybe you have sold your house and then the value of the Bitcoin has dropped and there you are with only 1 Bitcoin.

Some years ago in the US there were people who sold their house for $1.00 USD as a tax dodge. I don't remember what happened that made that stop. However, with bitcoin, if that dodge was still possible, it could work two fold, first getting the tax break, and then the possibility of bitcoin's price going up to a level that it eventually becomes worth it.

A house costs from 30k-200k or maybe more or less depending on its location, but 1 bitcoin to be equal to minimum 30k is impossible for now and I don't expect to happen this in this decade. Maybe after 10 years or more but I'm very skeptic.

with the way bitcoin is rising up and the way it is being adopted this may not even be that far away. well maybe you can never trade a house with 1 bitcoin but you will certainly be able to trade it with a couple of bitcoins maybe even less than 10 bitcoin.

Hell a lot of people would be lining up to buy it. I know I would, and I'd be willing to dump a lot of money into Bitcoin to buy a house for 1 BTC. No-one ever will at this stage though, unless it is a mud shack worth maybe $50 of labor at most.

i think it will be quite impossible to buy house with single bitcoin, i don't think the price will be that high even for 10 or 20 years in the future, the most bitcoin can do with single bitcoin is to buy furniture, but let's just hope a single bitcoin will be enough to pay the house down payment for the future

I suppose it would depend on the country and how you define 'house' but even then I think you're being overly optimistic with your timeframe options. I don't have a clue how much the cheapest house would cost in the poorest country or some isolated rural location in developed countries but I think it should be reasonably safe to assume it can't be less than $5,000(?). And I'm not sure if we can reach $5,000 by 2020. Maybe more like 5 - 20 years if I were to guess.
