How many of the billionaires are not fluent in English? Even if someone is not that fluent, it won't be difficult for him to hire a translator, if the need arises. Also, many of these billionaires are net contributes to the British economy, paying tens if not hundreds of millions of UKP in taxes every year. This group includes Italian mobsters, Russian mafia henchmen, African dictators.etc, but that is another topic.

The same can't be said about the welfare rats from Bangladesh and Pakistan, who are like economic parasites.

I think Cameron is right on this one as I can't see what's the purpose of working or even being in a country in which you can't speak the language and have poor communication skills at that's the number one factors into establishing a good relationship with those you work for nor those you try to talk to.

What he's saying makes perfect sense in the context of radical islam, it's not so bad for other countries that don't have these kinds of problems, but if you only understand the language of the people that oppress you and tell you what to believe rather than exposing you to other ideas then it stands to reason that's what you're going to believe, it doesn't matter if you're in a new country, you can still be isolated if you don't know the language and don't know how to communicate with other people.

I can't believe there are twats out there who would criticise him for pointing that out since it's so simple, but then again, I live in this shit hole and know exactly the kind of people that would criticise him, it seems that they've toned down the rhetoric now though because of Cologne but I wouldn't hold me breath because it won't be long since they go around screaming at people again and calling them racist for pointing all this out.

What he's saying is a perfect nonsense because it concerns only Muslim women. He wants immigrants to learn English? Fair enough. Then he should create an education system in order for all migrants to learn English while being temporary accepted in the country. It's not a bad idea if it's well done cause learning the common language is mandatory in order to integrate correctly a population.

Problem here is that he's just giving some money for Muslim women. What about all the men? Or what about all the other religions/cultures/nationalities? That means if I'm a Senegal male migrant it's ok for me not to learn English?

This might be true, at least partly: I think that all the politicians are only looking for voters. On the other hand when they are trying to attract more voters they are doing good things to society too. And that's a good thing that people who don't know English will be able to learn it with the support from the Government.

That's the stupidest thing I've heard today. Do you think the Chinese lives by that rules? They have a lot of visitors and they strictly respect their Language. But they also accept others who speak English live in their country and work. A restriction on language shouldn't be applied by any Country's Government cause it's peoples willingness to communicate in the language they desire.

I disagree, it's important to be able to talk the language of the country you emmigrate too. Doesn't mean you shouldn't talk your native language, but it's important to know the one of your new home. Simply because it helps on everything, integration, administrative papers, education of next generations...

But this is a stupid idea to impose it. How do you even measure the level of English after 2.5 years? And what is the correct level? What if some English people don't have this level?

Better would be: don't know english don't come..if we speak about people from non EU countries looking for job in UK, one of the first thing you must is that you know English language and on upper level..It's horrible that you deal with people living there without knowing language, and they sholuld be deported..The mistake was that they were allowed to enter UK without knowing the language. So deport them and also make a new law: if you do not know english don't try to come, you won't be allowed to stay

He´s right. If you speak the language you are much more likely to be accepted by the natives. I know this from experience, when you can communicate with someone in your own tongue, everything changes. Color or religion becomes just minor details.

Well, if you come in foreign country in order to start new life and you don't even make effort to learn language, how much serious you are?

Language yes, culture... Why? Why should it be them to learn our culture? I mean, there is no reason for that as long as they learn the language so they're able to communicate with us and they respect the laws.

First of all must learn the language so can work there and understand what's happening there, but learning laws and language of one country means in some way to learn the culture of living there, respecting laws. In Switzerland in some buildings is not allowed to shower between 10pm and 5am. So if you want to live there you must act according their laws and rules so you ll learn culture of life there. Nobody ask them to go on rock concerts, go in bars,pubs, read Shakespeare but to accept basic and common way of living
