I am surpsied how many people in Netherlands know what bitcoin is (I am not talking about correct definition but general idea). They of course messed some facts and have biased view on economy. The problem I see is access to bitcoin, it is somewhat problematic and hard to buy bitcoin if you are cryptocurrency newbie.

People in Africa and other remote country like & adapt bitcoin more than other in the first world because it is better than the current banking system but people in the first world might have an alternative way.

all my friends think that bitcoin is something really expensive that criminals use to launder money lol. ive tried to get them started with bitcoin by giving em some bits but they just cant get into it. Pretty much the same here. I did manage to get one guy I know to invest in bitcoin but apart from him nobody else is remotely bothered or interested. Yeah, whenever he did not find an easy way to cash the bitcoin for some goods or fiats he will not accept it. We have to tell and describe the detail method of at least its earning and cashing out to them. Then i think it will be fruitful to involve them in bitcoin.

Some people around me know about bitcoin but they find it too expensive to buy. I told them that they don't need to spend a penny to earn some bitcoins, they just don't feel the need to spend any time on bitcoin. They simply don't want to waste their time and money on something they don't believe in.
Majority of us are facing the same problem that people around us are not aware about the bitcoins and if we introduce them to bitcoins then they simply reject the offer, they don't want to invest into digital currency and have fear of loosing their money, they don't look at it as a opportunity to make money.

My family thinks it's something illegal and always tell me be careful when dealing with it since government is very strict (the problem is they don't know anything about it and are more of a traditional thinkers therefor when I earn money thru online, they assume it may be some sort of illegal stuff). My friends think it's too complicated for them to get on board, no matter how many times I tried to break it down for them into small pieces.

Most people think of it as something excessively technical and very complicated and only a thing for tech savvy, but it started to get some base among other populations group too.

i find it funny that most people say its to expensive asked my friends, and i tell them you dont need to buy one whole bitcoin at the time you can buy parts of a bitcoin. then they all seemed pretty mind blown. i dont understand how they could not think of that on their own lol. but then they just say its to complicated getting into. so i guess its just all excuses.

Family will always scared of online stuff as they are not used to it, and they haven't into the technology as we did, as when internet took birth they were scared of it too, and they have only one feeling that internet involves bad activities, so it is very difficult for us to convince them, but we need to show them the positive part of bitcoins and change their mentality.

But there is nothing positive about bitcoins that an average person would find useful. What are you going to tell them? That it's anonymous? That the transactions are somewhat fast? Guess what, when you are paying with paypal or visa transactions are instant. Are you going to tell them about the volatility of the price or that it's impossible to buy a lot of things directly with bitcoins? We have to face it, bitcoin is not for the average person, at least not yet.

Bitcoin is for everyone but if you are willing to learn few simple steps how to use it. Only if you are coming from third world countries where internet is rare, then its sad to talk about usage.

Traditional thinker would assuming things online are fraud and scam , they always hard to accept and admit it. Especially bitcoin, it's too complicated to mention and make them understand.

In my town i know only 2 people know about bitcoin so basically many regluar people out there think nothing about it because they are still not aware of a thing called bitcoin. this just shows that bitcoin has soo much room for seeing its userbase grow. if we manage to double the amount of bitcoin users in the comming years, then these people will also try to spread the word about bitcoin like we are doing it right now. here where i live bitcoin is quite known as they have heard about it in the media (mostly not good news), and i try to explain them why the media is wrong and why bitcoin is much better as currency compared to the fiat we are using here. if you explain what bitcoin is and how it works in easy language, then they will understand it and even might get interested in it.

In my area nobody knows about Bitcoins and although there are financial restriction and no creditcard providers "Visa, MasterCard", BTC would seem a very good alternative but nobody even knows rather than use it.

What people think about bitcoin is based on what they read and heard. Some people had luck to hear about it from people who can explain it good and interesting for the listener. So we can't generalize about the entire population, eveyone had different introduction with BTC. In my case, I mean around me, regular people are sceptic. Some more and some less, but I think some of them starting to change their opinion about it. I even have some friends playing poker for bitcoins now. And I think they like the fact they can earn something like that.

You're right. In coming time bitcoin is going to takeover on everyone's mind (i wish not in a negative way) and if they understand its worth they will surely get interested in it like we are.

Most people are clueless about Bitcoin, but then again... most people are clueless about a lot of things. They are lazy too, and if it sounds too complicated, they will push it
away or dismiss it as being something that it's not. I have to deal with this a lot... They read something negative in the news papers and they are too lazy too investigate.
There are a lot of misconceptions about Bitcoin out there and this video, even if it's a little old, still shows how much work we still have to educate people.
