Doesn't insure there won't be a chargeback down the road.
Have a read, although I don't think you are new here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=14632.0

When the subject of buying BTC with Paypal comes up, I often remember this:

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Yeah, read that.  But I think there are people in the currency exchange section of BCT who do these sort of deals all the time and might be able to help you.  Have a look around and see if there are any.  PP is not a good medium of exchange for bitcoin for the person who gets the PP, as KWH has already pointed out.

1337 Leet may also be considered a substitution cipher, although many dialects or linguistic varieties exist in different online communities. The term leet is also used as an adjective to describe formidable prowess or accomplishment, especially in the fields of online gaming and in its original usage – computer hacking.

Sign up with www.coinbase.com or www.circle.com. Since you have money to buy you won't have any problem buying BTC at market price from either of them.

There's something unbalanced about saying "i'm new to bitcoin and never used it before"... then saying "I want to deal with trusted members only".

It seems you do know a bit more about how transactions here work.

There's something "not-so-new" about your relationship with bitcoins.

Nah nah... having read this whole story again, instinct tells me he is not so new to bitcoin as he claims to be.

This statement: Never used bit coin before but wanted to purchase something and seller requires BTC. I tried to buy elsewhere but the conversion rate was a little, well not little but very high. Pretty much for how much I needed they wanted $1k which I won't pay

So much discrepancy here.

"never used bitcoin before..."
"tried to buy somewhere else but the conversion rate was a little... very high" (people really new to something won't be quite "into" the rate variation issue)
"dealing with trusted members only" (seems quite familiar with how this kind of transactions work here)
"1K" (sort of inducing people to think that there is no other option--- except for people here to take his reversible paypal)
