Strangely, you will probably get close to the same value by the peeling and selling the blank.
Also, going the route you did is far more safe and less time consuming.

I think this puts the number of unopened 2011 25BTC coins at (or just below) 200.
To be honest, it wasn't my favorite Casascius coin, I always found it a bit large and gaudy. I'm not so much into the bling of reflective gold. But it certainly does have that "used in pictures by the media" appeal. I also wasn't so fond of shipping and insuring an item with that much value.
Anyway, I have a handful of other unopened & graded Cas coins that I like more, and plan to keep.
