No.

Almost everyone will pay for BTC with PayPal, few will sell BTC for PayPal, unless they think they can get their money out before it's chargebacked up to 180 days later.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

paypal is *not* free, especially if you count having your assets frozen as a cost.

Paypal and Bitcoin are different in many aspects, I think it is not comparable. But Paypal is useful yet, sometimes. Even to buy Bitcoins and make some arbitrages. (in my case, for example, that's hard to me to buy MtGox directly).

Ok that is fairly easy to understand. My next and last question is, What is or what would be the conversion rate from $ to BTC or vice versa? Or am I going to far off topic.

It changes constantly since it is traded on an open market.  You can see the current exchange rate from several online exchanges in various currencies here:

Avoid PayPal like the plague. They rob your money. My son right now has over $50K USD stolen by PayPal that they say they are going to keep frozen for 6 months "in case he has any chargebacks." F*&*n thieves rob your money and they invest it earming interest while they screw sellers.

This video is 100% true. I only still use them for sales on eBay because that is what so many people use to pay there. Otherwise I would not touch PayPal with a 10 foot pole.

Paypal is a thief. They just wants to fill their pocket. My wife got scam, they didn't do anything but took her money away & shut down her paypal account. They even charged her the dispute fee which they actually didnt do anything.

I'm seeing a lot of horror stories from paypal but it seems like mostly people selling. They seem to be pretty buyer oriented when it comes to chargebacks etc, is my assumption right?

It's essentially the same thing. If the seller has a significant risk of being ripped off by the payment processor, they'll have no choice but to pass that cost on to the buyer. That why if you try to buy Bitcoins and pay with PayPal, you'll wind up paying more.

It leads to a death spiral. Say Bitcoins are selling for $10 each. But due to the additional risk, I'll have to charge $12 if you're going to pay with PayPal. Well, scammers don't care if they have to pay extra because they aren't actually going to pay anything. But this will cause some legitimate users to go to in person or major exchanges instead. So my ratio of scammers to legitimate users will go up. Soon I find that $12 isn't enough and I have to charge $14. Scammers still don't care, so I don't get rid of any scammers. But now, even fewer legitimate users are interested in using PayPal, so the price again has to go up.
