RING CONFIDENTIAL TRANSACTIONS SHEN NOETHER- MONERO RESEARCH LABS http://eprint.iacr.org/2015/1098.pdfDash N’ Drink http://www.dashndrink.com/index.htmlBC: What is the plan for the Dash N’ Drink and the team after the Miami conference? E/M: Mainly the machine will be used as a retail traffic billboard. We are in a unique position to not be affiliated with a particular supplier, which enables us to place the machine in many strategic places. Our future plans will include open sourcing the Dash N’ Drink InstantX code and other ambitious projects for point of sale technology tailored for retail merchants. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjWztN3PKdw

Soft drinks regardless of whether they are sweetened with sugar or artificial sweeteners cause all sorts of health problems including but not limited to obesity, diabetics, heart problems, cancers etc.
I voted for Ring Confidential Transactions. The health impact of this is to stimulate the brain while learning how they work, with all sorts of beneficial health results.

Good point about the potential negative health impacts of too much soda. However, it is worth noting that since dashndrink is "in a unique position to not be affiliated with a particular supplier" they could stock their backyard/garage vending machines with water or juice and drink that instead.

Fruit juice contrary to popular belief is not that healthy, and leads to weight gain, obesity etc. It is not the health benefit of eating the actual fruit. As for bottled water the issue here is social and environmental. Municipal water is in most cases just as healthy or even better (leached plastic) and be run through a filter if chlorine or fluoride is a concern. Bottled water is also a huge scam. Take a look at what these corporations pay for water http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/wsd/water_rights/water_rental_rates/cabinet/F-R_fees_Table-Feb4_Final.pdf. The wholesale rate is measured in millions of cube meters of water per year while the retail rate is measured in milliliters. Talk about a truly obscene mark up with huge negative environmental consequences. Edit: Sports drinks are also very unhealthy. Way too much sugar for starters.

RingCT hides not only the sender and recipient of a transaction, but masks the AMOUNT as well. It's a step closer to Perfect Privacy. Next is Monero's I2P router, which is being carefully ported from Java (lol WTF) to C++ (monitor progress at https://github.com/monero-project/kovri). The Dash vending machine should be stocked with bottles of snake oil. It's what we expect from Evan Maddoffield's sleazy, HYIP scam-marketing outfit:

The logo is hard to read. Unless someone has a higher resolution copy of the photo we may have to wait for the person from Dash who hired the bikini model to show up and let us know.

Please stop obscuring your point. Soda machines for InstantX are an obvious gimmick designed to fool naive speculators and have no correlation whatsoever to an actual widespread use case.

I am patiently waiting for arguments about how Dash N’ Drink soda machines will change the world. Has all the vending machine excitement from Miami died off already?
Outside this forum very few people have any clue what the heck is a Ring Confidential Transaction, however everybody knows what's a Soda Vending Machine . This is what I used to tell you guys since ages; even if you have the best freakin' awesome technology on the Earth, it will have little value if only a handful people knows about it, (in addition only small part of that handful knows what they are talking about) .

Many more people will find out about Ring CT once it is launched. At this point the code is still being tested. Yes people know what soda is but ""in a unique position to not be affiliated with a particular supplier" means DASH has no distribution contract. Their soda "tech" is still in some guys garage!

How many people have a key to the storage locker (or garage) where it has been stored since it was displayed in Miami? The entire world (if they have internet access) can see and test the Ring CT code in GitHub right now!

This entire thread is silly. Everyone with half a brain knows that Monero cryptography is infinitely superior to anything pieced together by Duffield.
Eventually the greater fools will stop buying and the DASH network will collapse.
If you want to compare legitimate cryptography to Ring Confidential Transactions focus on real competitors (using cryptography vetted by academics just like those who are vetting the work of Shen NOether from MRL) like Zerocash.

I would agree with the problems you mentioned about sugared soft drinks but I don't believe the evidence for what you claimed about artificially-sweetened soft drinks. I think those are way better than the sugared drinks and I think the cancer claims are pretty much hooey. Edit: What is this thread really about?

I am patiently waiting for arguments about how Dash N’ Drink soda machines will change the world. Has all the vending machine excitement from Miami died off already?
Outside this forum very few people have any clue what the heck is a Ring Confidential Transaction, however everybody knows what's a Soda Vending Machine . This is what I used to tell you guys since ages; even if you have the best freakin' awesome technology on the Earth, it will have little value if only a handful people knows about it, (in addition only small part of that handful knows what they are talking about) . Saying that people need to know about something (or understand it) in order to use it or want it is a pretty ridiculous statement and here are some examples why: Would you rather have a soda machine or https? Would you rather have a cabbage or a 4-d printer? Would you rather have a paper plane or MS HoloLens? People don't need to understand a thing (or even know what it initially is) to want it more than something that's been around for decades--one youtube video can demonstrate enough of what it is and show the consumer what it does, the latter being the more important quality for most people. And lets not skew what the question really is: would you rather have a non-private digital payment process (that already exist for credit cards) or an already more private process that has been augmented by confidential transactions? Dash didn't invent soda machines that accept digital payments, they just managed to turn one into a billboard.
