My bet would be on Monero which has solved Bitcoins apparently fatal flaws by introducing dynamic block size and a tail emission, enhanced privacy is an extra plus

I think if BTC really tanks pretty much all alts are going to tank right along with it. Maybe some more than others but still..

If I absolutely KNEW 100% that BTC was going to tank tomorrow I'd rather just get short on it with as much leverage as I could and actually profit off of the fall rather than just hedge against it.

I would sell all and not buy anything else. Everything is tied to Bitcoin and if it dies the rest go down with the ship. Once it hit bottom I would buy back and play the game once again.

WARPCOIN 100%! but sadly, as crowdsale is now over.... supply has dried up untill it hits an exchange. Otherwise, POT, DASH, and just in case of a random pump 42

I think that is a pretty safe play. The only other option that I feel would work if you had a considerable amount of Bitcoin would be to sell into fiat and hold.

Yeah, this also.  But it's hard to trust which exchange to hold fiat.  NBT is a good option for this but there isn't much volume.

Edit:  There's also USDT by Tether and Bit.Fiat by Bitshares.  But again no volume.

I always liked DOGE.  I'm not into dark markets and the DOGE community is kinda goofy and cool.  But apparently the coin is very easily pumped and dumped as evidenced by yesterday's action, and that scares me a little.  Litecoin is probably just as good though, and I've used it as well.

I'd split equally between Litecoin, and Dash.  Litecoin for the safe haven aspect and huge tradeability.  Dash because of the innovations including solving the scaling problems of Bitcoin with Dash Evolution and also solving the instant point of sale transaction speed with Instantx (see the Dash soda machine as an example), plus the decentralised self governance which is already funding, and planning to fund, projects to help Dash move further forward.

I hold a third Bitcoin, a third Monero, and a third Aeon.

I wish I had equal shares of Ethereum too, even though I think their IPO stinks, but I don't hold any.

Nevertheless, I feel safe in my crypto-holdings that I can survive just about any storm.

If it was an absolute certainty that BTW would tank then i would most likely convert it to FIAT. If i had to choose an altcoin i would most likely go with something like ETH (im not the biggest fan of it but it seems to hold value and is pretty popular with huge volume right now). The honorable mentions would be coins like BAY, DGB, NXT. I could consider going into those also, from the 3 most likely BAY.
It is really hard to say what happens if BTC indeed does get rekt as everything is connected to it.

Like the idea that you've mentioned NXT. In the past few month's seems to be in the background a little bit

I would not buy just one I would buy several, you never know which Coin will be the New Nr 1.
So a  basket of top coins. Top coins in a way that they oder a better technology than Bitcoin (like IOTA, Nxt or Ethereum)

Any reason why, or just talking your books / advertising?

You need to know why bitcoin would tank and pick the altcoin that does not have that particular issue. Bitcoin's possible achilles heel is fungability, but that would not cause the price to tank from the one day to the other (and I would definitely not run into the arms of the Dash instamine scam).

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.
