My money was stolen while I was logged in to Polinex 2.4 Bitcoin gone before my eyes. I had my account frozen and was told that a remote IP had tried to gain access to my account so it was frozen.

My account was frozen on the first busy day or Eth coming out and I was doing ok after three years of trying.

I was devastated at the account being frozen so I asked the mod for help and he said make a ticket I did support was very very slow over a period of days the attempt of access was told to me.

I use two factor you can not get in that account even if you get my email or at least that is what it is for.

I finally get the account back and the API is disabled and I am real happy and waiting to trade and look down and actually see my Bitcoin balance go to Zero.

I panic and tell the Mod can you please stop the Bitcoin transaction he says it is complete but actually it was pending and you can verify it from the log or at least when I asked versus when the transaction started.

I actually think I made too much money too fast or mad someone mad some idiot in the Troll box was asking me If I needed help re-syncing my phone and he knew what kind I had this is also in the chat log.

I had to have my phone re-sync earlier in the month and this carnival barking fool is telling 100s of people what kind I have and I had re-sync issues.

This was a matter I had to have support to fix which they did.

I have not got any of the coin back and they are not going to give it back.

My question is this how if I have two factor authentication and have API disabled can someone take my coin.

I was told someone had used a VPN from Texas to take it but I was logged in to the account at the time it left.

I am not lying about this I lost a thousand dollars in an instant I been trading on poloniex a year never made a dime and when I do this happens.

I am afraid they are going broke.

I think this is 3rd or 4th Poloniex related problem I read this week. Bells are ringing for them.
I think it's time to leave Poloniex, we may see a new Cryptsy, Mintpal etc. issue.

They took my money blamed it on a API Key that was generated through and email hack. Problem is API was disabled on the account when the funds left.

I was at the screen when the bitcoin left and API was disable it was taken by and administrative level person my opinion, I made someone mad.

Maybe in the Troll box I have no Idea but flatly I was robbed and it was internal and it was more than just me.

There were some more people, get your money out now .

I am working with Microsoft to locate the people who accessed my email this did happen but API was disabled on the account when I was logged in.

The 2factor on my account was removed only when the account was in poloniex possession then they put it back on before they gave the account
back to me.

Keep in mind this is all logged none of this is a lie .. I have transcripts of everything I am telling you right now right down to those keys that were supposedly used.

Get your money out .. If you want me to back up anything I am telling you simply ask I will post the logs and the correspondence I am having with them.

The hackers almost always go for the biggest exchanges. When Cryptsy, and Mintpal were hacked they dominated the altcoin exchanges and their hackers mae themselves millionaires. Now Poloniex and btc38 are the top altcoin exchanges I get worried they could be successfully hacked like Cryptsy, and Mintpal.

I hope these problems are not because of history repeating itself, but I might move my coins out of those exchanges to be safe.

BTC   2.49827775   1N1mvkuYUW5UHNBVEaZVjcQKVC5KqK948j   2016-01-27 22:39:38   COMPLETE: 8e76ce5192ece0e16779d50d0150c5122295a1a0db75cf15da969c713803ca68

Can anyone please tell me where this bitcoin went this was what was stolen from me and my API was disabled ..

I know it was not a lot and the guys at poliniex know I was hacked but they will not give it back. What a piddly amount of coin not to give back I was hacked through there exchange after trading there a year and they will not even get back a portion of it.

Let me tell ya something I loved Poloniex charts but you can bet one thing you get hacked your loss even if they know or think it was from a link in the troll box ...

I talked to most of the people there and it is like sorry been nice taking your money on trades we know we got and issue with spamming of malicious links but sorry bye.

I have sit on this a week lost 1000. never said a word I thought maybe Id get some back zip not any ... I am told that that transaction went to and exchange in another country.

can anyone tell me where it went I will give half of it to anyone who can help me recover it ..

Thanks you for any help ..

That transaction has multiple outputs and even after that it has various, so I don't know if there is anyway to know where the money was sent, the hacker or whoever must have probably mixed the coins by now, so there isn't any chance of getting it recovered.

There's someone else also having some issues here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1346559.0

I wonder if Poloniex is the next Cryptsy.

Can you add more proofs, screenshots of your chat to support and/or any other info you have.

In fairness to them if I cherry pick among the multiple chats on this I could post what I wanted but on both sides we agree and know I got stole from.

My account was frozen because someone attempted to access it I do not contest this it is quite possible and likely.

It was frozen on the 25th on one heavy heavy day of ETH trading I was frantic I made more than one ticket and they were responding to one that was a month old. I can attest I made more than one ticket on the same thing ....

This is like 3 days and I am told the secrecy is because of an attempted hacking. I had in the interim of the account being frozen sent my passport again plus a picture with me holding the passport and a piece of paper with a date on it.

They still did not lift the freeze until I finally put enough pressure on calling even FICEN and god knows who else I was afraid they were going broke and I was going to get stuck.(I threatened in the chat to call the police unless someone called me)

I got the account back on the 27th after a Skype chat and some questions from a Poloniex rep and had logged in using 2factor after running Kapersky.

I was watching the candles and look at my BTC balance and it went to zero(20 minutes or so) I said to the MOD can you stop the transaction he said it was complete .

They have produced a request from me on the 5th to enable API but I did not activate it until today to get a screen shot of the KEYS they say were used.

I just do not understand why would you give and account back that was suspected of being hacked with the API enabled as it is the way hackers get your coins.

Funny thing is within probably less than a minute the guy I Skype with was contacting me again by Skype basically consoling me I guess he saw the chat.

Those API keys are like a year old and I used them as I recall briefly for QUATLOO trader.

I do not even know how to tell if the KEYS are attached to the BTC or not

I was told that API was enabled but this is in the log at the point of the hack. I did not enable that API button and when I went to the tab it was like KIDD said disabled.

130 ojack36 2016-01-28 05:04:15   OldManKidd, API is disabled

If you got to polonibox u can see about the times of the event.

I saw the BTC drop I asked could it be stopped I was told no I saw the transaction was pending ..

During the time I has no access I had a guy handle slacknation tell me that they was making 200 percent profit. I FELT like he was mocking me because I was begging for my account back over a period of two days.

I get it back and I get my coins stole while I watch 2.4 BTC ..

Think about it on one of the hottest days of BTC trading out there and I was making money you get booted while trading.

You try for days to get someone on the phone get your account back and lose your BTC in like 20 mins Huh?

I been with them a year

We’ve established that you made the API key -

You sent this to me from your trash folder if you recall:

Subject Confirmation
From do-not-reply@poloniex.com
To ojack36
Date 2015-01-05 23:54
A request has been made to enable the trading API on your Poloniex account. Please click the following link or paste the address into your browser to confirm this action:

https://poloniex.com/confirmApi.php?h=21c3c99e25bd17a76eb3e7d5ec82151bafb212b9983b19e11481064cc6b0f294

If you did not submit this request, please contact Poloniex support immediately by submitting a ticket at http://poloniex.freshdesk.com.

Furthermore the timestamp:
2016-01-31 00:00:28.397: 5340 enabled the API from IP 75.108.182.159, confirmation hash 93f488c1c2929c8ff1e0f785d038dc046163848450dc9be3ad67e37609028ff1
while you may have disabled it, the person who got into your account and your email was able to not only reenable it, but also enable withdraw via API.

This activation was after the theft not before LOL what a joke .... He is taking a letter sent to request activation made on the 5th and then showing activation was not made until the 31st.

The rep told me look in my trash folder for this email funny thing is wouldn't a good hacker delete the trash folder Huh?? REP knew a lot about where to look ..

I think  this is going to unfold real bad for some people ... I have not withheld any information they asked for and they have done nothing but solidly my case RIGHT HERE IN THE EMAIL ABOVE API WAS OFF PRIOR TO THE 31st.

This would make theft my API key access impossible on the 27th...

Now if they produced a time-stamp showing activation before the 27th and after the 5th when the request was made then they are still guilty of giving you an account with API access setup.

Why would anyone give back an account with API access enabled that had a hack attempt on it, unless you needed a way to the money or an excuse as to how it left this is so silly.

I was robbed within 20 mins of getting that account back really HuhHuhHuhHuh

My experience has been one that you need to get your coin out of that exchange read the email above the Rep is establishing a timeline with it that API WAS NOT ENABLED UNTIL AFTER THEFT...

I trusted them and they blamed me for there failure to secure my account not mine ... The very fact they state they would return and account to you with API active knowing it was a hackers target makes them complicit.

Wow this is indeed bad they are one of the top in the industry,I am not using all of them  I only used yobit and hitbtc hopefully these two sites have a rock foundation and have a smooth business,it's quite risky to put a lot of money on coin exchangers nowadays you really need to diversify

OMG .. so it's true. Happened 2 days ago.

https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/1Ax9ctEQnG2ZqPbM6Uy37tnZLzH1FbMyB4/transactions

1st entry there was from a friend who went afk for 90 seconds and 0.96 btc of Dash was dumped for BTC and moved to that wallet. Then looks like another 29btc arrived same day from some other poor sods. This was reported and support suspended his account too.

Apparently it came from his IP and changed his GMail too, we assumed it was some teamviewer clicky hack bot that was waiting for inactivity to read his Chrome passwords, but since then it's starting to look like it only affected Polo and DASH, since he had more BTC worth in other coins on same account.

That wallet has 26btc remaining, only 1 transfer was made out to a wallet that received 451btc overall.

Coinmarket Cat prowls once again.

Shit, if Poloniex start scamming idk where else to trade altcoins. Guess i will withdraw my funds from there and wait some time to see what is happening with them. Personally, i did not have any problems there but after all of exchanges scams and hacks i will be extra cautious.

Have you suffered a brain injury? I can see why people would store piece of shit alts on an exchange but there's a billion options to secure your own BTC now.

Whatever their intentions are, due to its volumes now Poloniex is going to have a big fat target painted on its forehead for hackers. Unless they're 100% infallible another hack is going to happen somehow.

I am also trading  on Poloniex as i like there easy to use interface/platform and this is alarming if its true. Our hard earned btc is not safe if ever, though most site are secured, hackers are also doing overtime to crack the code.Maybe time to get some of my btc's and put to some reliable trading sites.

Stop this FUD. Here and there this shit happens to people who browse porn, dont have AV and antikeyloggers and then the exchange is to blame. Take care of your security people. AV, Antikeylogger, Antimalware and VPN.
