    Oybee.com

I would like to introduce everyone to a new service for the community. Oybee is a place for anyone wanting to sell any type of digital good. Oybee can be used to quickly house a product and make it available for purchase. This allows sellers and buyers to do a more streamlined exchange. In the Digital Goods section of the marketplace, there are many different products that are enticing, but having to go through the process of PMing the seller and waiting until you are both available can be a deterrent within and of itself. With Oybee, both the buyer and seller have the ability to get what they want within minutes.

Features
  • Simple
  • No-Signup
  • Anytime access to items
  • 1-confirmation transactions - Quick enough buyers don't have to wait too long, protection enough for the average seller
  • Low cost for sellers - A flat 5% fee

Feel free to check out the test item below. There will also be a few deals in the Digital Goods section.
http://www.oybee.com/item.php?id=1

Give it a try and post feedback as you see fit.  Thanks!

I've also implemented a feature that allows for a visual representation of the availability of an item. You can use it as shown below. For example, if the id of an item was 1, the following url would return an image stating 'Sold!' or 'Available!' as shown above in the test item.

Code:
[img]http://www.oybee.com/availability.php?id=1[/img]

Implemented Features
  • PGP/Bitcoin-otc Verification ✓

If you like any of these, let me know and I'll up its priority.

Feature Requests
  • Directory?
  • Blog Integration?
  • Price in QR code?
  • Email/SMS confirmation notifications?
  • Custom # of confirmations?
  • BTC prices that fluctuate in relation to other currencies?

Sleek site! Is there, or will there be, a directory?

Thanks for the feedback Phinnaeus! I'm taking all suggestions for new features. Kind of liked the idea of people spreading the urls as they saw fit. But if a directory is wanted, I'll definitely make it happen.

I think the directory might have been one of the requests back when it was bitlockr, but it's hard to judge trust if the poster isn't self-identified.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

Indeed, I was also thinking of implementing PGP in conjunction with bitcoin-otc so people could sign their item page. I'm looking into this for a near future implementation.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but are there products available now? And if yes, how can I browse what's available?

Bottom line, this is like ClickBank on steroids: Paid instantly without fear of chargebacks or returns.

Paid within 1-confirmation. Smiley But yes, as per my quick Google search of ClickBank I would say that's the idea. And yes, there are items available, but as of now it is up to the seller to independently post a link to their page on a forum such as this or provide it to someone personally. I myself have posted a couple gift cards and it seems TheButterZone has posted a few songs as well. Links to these can be found here.

From what I can see though I expect to see more links being posted soon.

Just tested out the service and it works great!

A concern I have is:
* What if 2 people pay for the item at the same time? What happens?

Awesome feedback, webosftw! Thanks a bunch man.

In answer to your question, the item page does a check every three seconds in order to be sure the item is still available. If the item is unavailable, the user will be redirected to a page where they are notified that it has been sold. Therefore the probability of two people buying the same item within three seconds of one another is very low. However in the event this happens, the 'winning' user will be redirected to the final page where they will receive the item and the 'losing' user will be redirected to the sold page. The 'losing' user could then contact me here or email me at admin@oybee.com for a quick full refund.

Great question and I will add this to the FAQ on Oybee.com. I will also look into automating the refund process.

http://oybee.com/create.php

Every time I toggle the "Sell once and remove / Sell again and again" icon, it scrolls all the way up.
This is really annoying, please fix it.

Will you stop fixing shit so quickly after issues are bought to your attention? It's making you look too professional.  Grin Grin Grin

And another thing: What gives you the right to come here and offer up a service that works and shows promise? You keep this shit up and people are goin' to be huntin' you down.  Grin Grin Grin

Great idea. Should be easily done.

Well it looks like two days into our venture and we got popular enough to attempt to hack/spam! Woot!  Cheesy
All is well but the site will be down for just a bit while I implement a captcha.

Implemented the captcha and users are now able to add content again. This should keep anyone/anything from spamming the site. Have fun! As for security everything should be dandy, however if you have any suggestions or concerns please voice them here or PM me. I'll always pay for any security issues found on the site. Added a few more feature requests, one or two of which should be implemented soon.

Update : Added utf-8 support as per a private request. We are now partially multilingual. 享受!
More to come.
