Shared PSUs

So I currently have one S5 and 1Liteon 750W PSU, and am thinking of counting with the S5 for a 2nd miner.

My question is:
Could i share 2 of these PSUs (750W + 750W) across three (3) S5s?

I'm thinking no as although the PSU has 6 outlets, and the S5s have 4 input connectors (i.e. 6*2 =12 output connectors on the PSUs, and 3*4 = 12inputs connectors on the S5s), the S5s apparently need 590 +/- 5 so 620W each, or 1860W total and the 2 PSUs will only provide 1500W, which will not be enough.

Thoughts?

No, you would need to downclock quite a bit. One 750w per is good for full speed, about 1.3th/s per S5. If you were to run 3 downclocked, i dont see the point, but then you could use only 1 connector per blade.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking.

BTW: What would attaching only 1 connector per blade achieve? Less power consumption (1/2?) but also less Hash rate (also 1/2?)

Just saves on the number of connectors needed, power consumption would be the same, however should only be done on a Downclocked S5 otherwise the current which would otherwise be share between the two connectors is too much.

As you said yourself, you can share the power of a single PSU to multiple miners but with the numbers you listed, it won't be enough.
Also, if I remember well, you don't have to use all 4 connectors of a single S5 to unless you are overclocking.
However, I think you have to use at least 2 to use both boards.

Try with one and half s5 on a psu(3blades/1psu). Miners should be downcloaked to play it safe!

Using only 1 connector/ blade is risky and will make the power go up a tiny bit!
And if the cables on the 6pin connector are not 16awg, but 18awg, prepare for meltdown, fire and stuff like that!

Also bad contact between male and female connectors will cause troubles!
