So am I doing something wrong or I'm in the wrong place?   I'd like to make a simple trade....but I'm new, so people don't want to trade with me or they want to scam me.   I don't see where "honest" trades are being done and I don't see anything about which escrow services to use, if any.   So am I screwed.....or just not patient enough?   Right now, it seems like I'm "damned if I do"  "damned if I don't."    Thanks for your help.

First you need to find which part of the forum you need to use.  If your selling computer equipment, then you need to go to the computer hardware section in the goods section.  If digital good, go to the digital goods section...etc.

Then you need to use escrow or send first.  Your account is too new to ask anyone to go first.  Ognasty is a great escrow agent and is happy to help out.  I would recommend him, of course there are other good options also.  If the person is extremely trusted, you can get away with sending first and not paying an escrow fee, but that is not advised.

Honest trades are possible in following situations :

1. Trusted guy trades with a non trusted guy and non trusted guy doesn't have reversible payment method .

2. Non trusted guy goes first such as newbie or negative trust  and has no reversible payment system.

3. An escrow is involved in non reversible payment method !

Don't be disheartened. Newbies aren't trusted here as many are alts of scammers or probable scammers but that doesn't mean they can't trade here. If you want to exchange currency, people don't accept PayPal/Skrill from newbies as both are reversible (whether or not the newbie uses escrow). If you are planning to trade in gift cards or any other trade, you can choose an escrow from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

Man ! I told you to deal with me , i was front but you either never replied me or you wanna deal only with new people .
Just always deal with Trusted guys , don't forget to check the trust score , the more the trust(green) the safer it is , some time green people also scam , so always use escrow , look for people trade history , and important thing , do not trade with Newbie or below Sr.Member until you are Dammit Sure.

ohhh. And you did not found anybody to give you Netspend or Reloadit ?
And if you found it, did you offered to send first?

because as you are very new here, you need to send first. Ofcourse, to older members only, not to new users like you Wink

To be honest with you, i don`t know who is Monbux. Also i never used Escow, i don`t even know how exactly escrow works Smiley...

Anyway, i hope you find a way to get that Netspend or Reloadit in a trusted way Wink

If you tell me more about this 2 things, maybe i manage to help you in some way...

OgNasty, Monbux, Tomatocage are all very well known and trusted escrow providers on the forum.

No worry about any of the above scamming you Smiley

Thank you so much you guys.............how can I be sure I will be getting a valid Netspend Reload Code in return, before my bitcoins are released to the seller?     Will I have time to validate the Code and then give Monbux the 'thumbs up' to release the BTC to the other party Huh    Thanks so much.

Escrow works like this :

1)You send funds to escrow.
2)buyer sends you payment.
3)You validate/cash out payment.
4)When happy you inform Escrow to release the bitcoin to the buyer.

Any problems i.e non payment or some dodgy scam attempt then the Escrow will return the bitcoin to you.

Hence Escrow gives you some safety when trading with strangers online.

The escrow could be using TV to watch the code get validated but in no way the escrow is gonna "trust your word", they have to see it. Anybody could say the code was not valid and ask the bitcoins back.

In this case the escrow would have to use TV to watch the code get claimed... the buyer can say anything he wants to the escrow

or am i missing something?

So the buyer would have to trust aftergeometry not to scam him.

Got to be a way to check

Best way is for the escrow to watch the code get claimed using TV i think

I've done several honest deals on bitcointalk, but you have to be extremely careful choosing who you do business with.  Don't take offense when you're a newbie, because it's been the experience of a lot of us here that newbies just create accounts to scam.  Build up your reputation and then you'll have no trouble on your end--but you still have to be careful.  And be patient too.
