yup but to be fair if you are mining with GPU's now just carry on mining and swap out when they arrive - I think spring is optimistic myself and they will probably fulfil all the pre-orders by July.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

>Hey, I want to order a Single today, or maybe in a few weeks. When >can I expect it to be delivered?

>Hey, I want to order a Single today, or maybe in a few weeks. When >can I expect it to be delivered? Yeah, I considered that possibility too but his post history doesn't suggest that kind of idiocy.

Just got an email saying early spring - so not any time soon. pretty sure this is a lie Its not a lie quote - I added early to spring (being optimistic) but it could be late spring: Butterfly Labs Inc Jan 7 (1 day ago) to me Hi XXXXX, Yes, it will be shipped to the address you provided. It will probably be sometime this spring. Than you for confirming your address. Kind regards, Alicia BF Labs, Inc. screen shot: http://i46.tinypic.com/2uztdea.jpgSo before you accuse someone of telling a lie make sure you 100% sure or you look like a fool

That's not when the preorders START being delivered - that's when unixdude's ASIC in particular is scheduled to be delivered. He could be the 2,000th order for all we know, hence the late delivery prediction.

There are a group of us who have ordered a few in the UK some ordered really early on last year some have put orders through in December and some recently. From what I gather it is first come first served so any one who ordered last year July time will get theirs first and everyone else the last ones we ordered were yesterday will get theirs in spring which could be March/April may be stretch in to June. I suspect they will end up shipping the first lot of pre-orders at the end of Jan/Feb.

Well if it doesn't no loss I will carry on with my GPU farm I was order 15900 something that was placed over the weekend so if they are shipping in batches of 3 (read that some where not sure if it was on this forum or the BFL forum) for the pre-orders order 1 to 53XX will be shipped first then 53xx to 10XXX then the batch I am in 10xxx to 15xxx. If mine is scheduled for say April at the earliest they need to start shipping the first lot in Jan/Feb unless they delay again in which case I would probably cancel my order. Or I will probably wait until another company has regular stock and buy then.

Their first production run will be split among 3 types of per pre-order groups, then they plan a continuous production/shipping schedule.

http://bitcoinmagazine.com/asic-mining-updates-asicminer-deploying-butterfly-demonstrating-at-ces/As of today, the four main contenders in the race are:
Avalon ASICs, offering 60 GH/s for $1,299. These are scheduled to come out on Jan 19. Butterfly Labs, offering the 60 GH/s Single SC for $1,299. These are scheduled to come out slightly ahead of Avalon. BTCPFGA’s bASIC, offering the 72 GH/s bASIC NextGen Bitcoin Miner for $1,069. Unfortunately, BTCFPGA has been suffering serious delays, and its projected shipping data now appears to be the second half of March. ASICMiner, not offering any physical product, but expected to contribute at least 2.8 terahashes, and likely more, to the 23-terahash Bitcoin network.

This is based on the published January 10th date that chips are supposed to be received, and subsequent estimate of 2 weeks to ship after the chips are received.
