the blockchain has forked...will our sent bets for todays late games be tracked?  ?? |

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Due to the issue on the blockchain it is hard to tell what will happen with today's bets. My guess is that all bets will be returned. As of time of writing this message I don't think there are any major bets for today which have been resolved yet.
As I understood all transactions from earlier are fine and we need to worry about those.
Let's hope we get this thing fixed and back to normal soon.

Apparently the issue is with block #225430 - 00000000000001c108384350f74090433e7fcf79a606b8e797f065b130575932. I would assume that bets that have a number of confirmations before that block would be okay. We'll follow the official rules regarding the issue. At the moment please don't make any additional bets before the issue has been resolved.
Luckily, it's Monday with not a lot of games on tonight...

Accidental post, was supposed to add information to my previous post. But as mentioned, we'll follow whatever instructions we get from the Bitcoins devs. My expectation is that all bets made before the issue can be honored.

I just read this. I hope it doesn't affect my bet. I had a winner for 6 BTC. The bet was placed 1.5 hours before tip off. 6 BTC means a lot to me.

Looks like everything is under control. I'm really impressed by how quickly the issue was solved by the Bitcoin community. I can't tell if any bets have been returned due to the chain fork, but I'm going to begin payouts for all winning bets that we have in our system wallet. And yes, it includes at least one 6 BTC bet. That is pretty harsh, but that's sports. Yesterday in the NBA, 9 out of 11 games ended in a home win, even when considering the handicaps. A lot of people had bet on the Lakers, and it doesn't get any easier for them now that Kobe is out of the lineup :/
