What you wrote I've been pondering since childhood and it's crazy, isn't it?  Yes, I'm alive and it's amazing what results from unique combinations of arrangements of atoms and molecules.  Not sure where consciousness comes from.  That's what's always baffled me.

Almost everything that we know is created from atoms.  Atoms moving in space.
If the atoms you carry around are not moving you are dead.

In my opinion, human being is much more than just body created from atoms and cells.
We are created by God and have both spirit and body.
When our body pass away, our spirits continue to exist in eternal spiritual world, forever.
So, our body is not eternal and our cells dying every day but our spirit is eternal.

How long will it take exactly in your opinion?

IMO science as it is now can't explain many very important things. I'm not against science, no, I just can't agree with such overestimation of its power.

Cogito ergo sum or, in English, "I think, therefore I am alive"  as René Descartes said is the answer to the question "Do you truly believe that you are alive?" IMO.
