Heya
Due to being a loyal customer and spending far too much BTC with Bitmain over the past few years I seem to have some 20% off loyalty discount. Due to my wife recently having a baby I cant really afford to buy any mining equipment.
I was wondering if anyone else wanted to take up the offer.

Has anyone else heard of this?

I am going to say that there is a fairly decent chance this offer is less then legitimate.

I would suggest that anyone considering to deal with the OP to take necessary precautions so that both parties are sufficiently protected against getting scammed.

Yeah sounds fishy to me as well.  A newbie account that gets a 20% off Bitmain loyalty coupon.  I mean sure there's a chance that they just never created an account on the forum but if you're such a big buyer I'd imagine you'd have some kind of history here.  Plus considering that they've been on holiday for the past two weeks I don't think they've been issuing coupons other than the 0.05BTC off batch 10.  Please use escrow if you are thinking of accepting this.  In any case even with a 20% off coupon I don't think there's any ROI on the S7 with the difficulty jumping the way it has and the one coming up.

The same way phisher make fake websites to look like real bank sites or other sites that steal your credentials.  I don't do it so I don't know, but I imagine that it can be done.  I'm not sure if it's a coupon or not, but I can't select a coupon from that page on the Bitmain site.  The only time I can select a coupon to use is during checkout but he doesn't say it's a coupon, just a loyalty discount and if this does exist who even knows if Bitmain allows you to transfer it to another user.   I don't know if it's legit or not, I'm just saying proceed with caution and always use escrow.

To be honest i dont think Bitmain would do it in the first place, ever. They dont even offer such discount in 500-1000 MOQ orders. And if they did, i really doubt they could write that many english words without writing them in a 90% broken English.

At one point I was trying to broker a deal for 800+ S3s. It fell through as Bitmain was only willing to offer a 1% discount. This is, without a doubt, a scam.

By editing the local html and photoshopping the URL.  This took me about 3 mins.  This was actually loaded from an html file on my local desktop, and then I just used MSPaint to copy the original thread URL over the address bar.

Photoshop

Not photoshop.
I think he used the inspect element technique to make it red font.

Photoshopping would leave an effect beside that edit since he will be trying to smudge the part.

I'm not an expert in photoanalysis, but to my understanding this

http://fotoforensics.com/analysis.php?id=4b26bcef60b8ab935bed68d06ea6359a03388c3f.111704&show=ela

shows, that the red text is from different source than the rest of the picture

Error Level Analysis (ELA) shows, that the red text within an image is at different compression level.

tl;dr it is fake
