Paxful is a Scam

paxfull never refund my fees if a deal is not completed.I escrow my btc for neteller but the buyer failed to complete the deal.after the i get refund in my wallet but deducting fees.this is happened several times,however this is not my fault.

Account hacked is not a scam, see the different IP logged into his account, unless he is sharing his account with lots of friends from all over the world.

I had no 2FA on any other site in those days, didnt got any issue with them. Why? All these site are good and have good reputation and dont want to loose it.

This happens all the time in bitcoin web wallet world, except other sites simply don't report it to you.
Hackers will get into accounts.

1. By hacking your email account and thus without 2FA getting into your web wallet accounts linked to your email across all bitcoin web wallets.
2. By getting your email and password from hacked databases from other wallets.

This is why 2FA is now a standard in the industry. It works and often it is the only thing that works. In fact 2FA via SMS is also now not safe as hackers have found a way to use social engineering to import carrier numbers. Use Google Auth or Authy only.

We at Paxful are at the very forefront of mainstream bitcoin and we have seen it all. Despite our warnings users refuse to use 2FA. A strong password is simply not enough. You will get hacked without 2FA. We are giving our users more and more tools and showing them their logins and ip's and more tools are coming.

Please make an effort to use 2FA.

We are not in the business of stealing a few bucks from our users wallets. We spend hours trying to get a newbie their first bitcoin. Our CEO himself spent months on the phone with women from all over the USA showing them how to get and use bitcoin. We held their hands and taught them how to copy and paste and even listened to them cry all to get them their first bitcoins. There is even a video about it.

Do you think we would destroy their confidence in bitcoin all to steal a few bucks, when it costs us far far more in support costs just to get one of them integrated? This makes zero business sense and no common sense. Please just use 2FA.

Paxful is on the forefront of bitcoin for the mainstream and we know how important this is. These scam accusations happen because people REFUSE to properly secure their accounts. We can only do so much, teaching people about 2FA after they have only just leaned to copy and paste and have been using the same password for the past decade is tough but working TOGETHER we can all do it. Please help us clean all this up because the faster we do the faster bitcoin gets into real peoples hands.

No I never get any Notification from the site at my email. I dont know about my account is hacked or not. But I can see there are too many countries in my logged in history. Its even not possible. I have account on other site too, but this type of thing never seen.

Exactly, if anyone knew anything about hacking it doesn't matter how strong your password is, it is not enough. There are databases out there with millions of username and password combos.

I use Paxful and have 2FA enabled and guess what ? I have never had my coin pinched.

You have a valid case,on some exchanges I don't have 2FA set up only a strong password and I don't have problem with it,there could be an inside job on it and paxful needs some explaining to do,i am not usng paxful but will be very careful when using it.

Coinbase: New IP verification, email login confirmation, location based security.
Localbitcoins: Login guard enabled by default, email confirmation, location based security.
Blockchain: Email confirmation, identifier needed to login. Without you being at fault, it's impossible to get hacked.
Bitcointalk: Lol, hacked database, tons of users have been hacked. Just because you haven't, doesn't mean the issue isn't at hand.

Paxful has a bunch of security options you chose not to enable. While I dislike 2FA, it was your choice not to enable it. A strong password isn't shit when you could look up a username against billions of entries and find that very password used no a non-secure site. Malware isn't the only possibility mate.

Have you reported it to Pax admin? I don't think they are a scam in my experience. I record all my trades in a video using screencast in case someone tries to scam me. Pax admin can easily investigate with a video as your proof. I suggest you do this as well. not olny with Paxful but also to other site/s that you are trading. Just a suggestion.

I would never have faith on "strong passwords". 2FA is the only way to stay safe. Especially, I realized this after my Bitcointalk account was hacked a few months back and the hacker scammed 1.5BTC using my account. Unfortunately, Bitcointalk doesn't has 2FA but it is a must for online wallets.
