Well if you have no other choice then it's good even 3% because you get instant and you are paying in real life which is easier that dealing in forum.
There also the practical factor of reaching out for fiat from your digital coins at physical places. There's a comfort factor here that, obviously, comes at a price... I would prefer 10x more a local ATM machine that would give me the easy to use tools to convert my coins instead of having to go online to an exchange, post an order, wait for the order to be executed, than transfering fiat to my bank account (which usually takes more than 24 hours) and only after that being able to withdraw my cash.

There's also two located in one of my countries (Philippines) and none so far AFAIK in my other country (Iran). You could also check the following link for some of early ATM machines that were registered (Note: the new one's seem to be missing on the map): http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-atm-map/

Regina, SK Canada has a BTC atm at a pizza place a way from where I am. I can get there, but have to go to another neighborhood to use it.
We went to see it and prove for ourselves that it really was there. I was glad it was there.

There are two BTC ATMs in my city (metro population a little over 2,000,000). Both machines work. Lamassu brand.
9% premium to "spot" (very high), but localbitcoins.com does not seem to work well here. Their rep told me that they were going to get better machines (more robust, higher capacity) fairly soon. Most of the times I have used them there were no other people there wanting to as well.

Here in Belgium, we currently have 4 Bitcoin ATM's. Two in Antwerp, one in Ghent and one in Hasselt (on campus). I'd actually like to see one in Leuven, it's a big university town and I've met quite a few people there who use Bitcoin. Also, it's pretty surprising that there isn't one in our capital, Brussels. Not a single one in the French-speaking part of Belgium. Source: https://coinatmradar.com/country/21/bitcoin-atm-belgium/Side note: Would it be possible to set up some sort of crowdfunding campaign to get a Bitcoin ATM in my home town (Leuven), if I provide at least 25% of the investment myself? I wouldn't know what perks to give to investors/crowdfunders and it would be a pretty small target audience. Or would this just be a pretty bad idea to start with, would like to hear some opinions of long-time members of this forum.

Yup converting bitcoin to your currency takes a lot of time before you can get it but if you would prefer to pay bitcoin with stuff and if you and your country already accepted bitcoin and has a ATM in yout country which you can withdraw bitcoins then that would be easy . But now only few are acepting bitcoins and i also read that some country has an atm which you can withdraw bitcoin and thats really nice and i hope that we do have also that here in our country

Anybody ever sold bitcoin at a BTM? What experience(s) have you had?
I presume you can send whatever you want to sell to a paper wallet, then go to the BTM & scan the QR code & the relevent amount of cash comes out of the machine (minus fees).
Sounds easy in theory but I've never used one. I've been a HODLER for a few years now & I'm trying to get as much info I can so I can get rid of my coins in a variety of ways whenever the time comes (still a few years away at least but I want to be prepared).

I did not use a ATM honestly. I know it cost a lot of money just to have one. Even worse is that you always have the risk of system defects and robbery.

we have bitcoin atm in bali, the specific location in kuta, bali thanks for bitcoin indonesia for providing this useful atm for bitcoiners here i'm really proud of this Are you sure it's an ATM, because I think it's just a Bitcoin vending machine. ATM is the machine that can sell and buy Bitcoin, while a vending machine is just a machine that can just sell Bitcoin.

There are no any bitcoin ATM in my country even not in capital city. And actually i came to know that bitcoin has been considered as illegal by Nepal rastra bank which is very sad news for us. But there is lot of demand of bitcoin here in Nepal these days may be government will rethink about legalizing bitcoin here and we may see bitcoin ATM machines.

There is only one Bitcoin ATM here, in Serbia. It is located in Belgrade in some restuarant. Too bad that I am not living there, so I will not be able to buy Bitcoins that way. I hope it comes to my town so I can use it because I do not own a credit card, but Serbia is a small country so I think it will mainly be in big cities and later get to other, smaller ones.

Its not really the fee they charge that you need to keep a eye on but the actual currency conversion. I visited a btm last week and they the conversion should have been about $782 but they charged at $825,so got gauged on the conversion rate.
