I still think it's one of the most stable and supported coins, but with the increased competition I'm afraid the current business case just isn't enough anymore to get mainstream adoption.

We just have to keep working towards that.  As more people put in proposals the more it will grow because the community of masternode owners actually can help Terracoin and be a part of the coin.

Install https://github.com/terracoin/sentinel, this is now the mandatory component for masternodes.

Thanks. It's a new Windows32 install with my old wallet.dat. I downloaded the bootstrap from a few posts above. So when I open the wallet I get just the splash screen with "Activating best chain" across the bottom and so far it hasn't gotten past the splash screen. Normal while it does something in the background?

Ahh.  The bootstrap is getting processed when it is just sitting on the splash screen like that.  It takes a while for that to happen.  Then is should start pulling in peers.

So, yeah, that is normal.

Ahh.  The bootstrap is getting processed when it is just sitting on the splash screen like that.  It takes a while for that to happen.  Then is should start pulling in peers.

So there was some sort of error and the wallet quit after doing something overnight. Deleted out the bootstrap blocks and trying to start sync from scratch. Showing 5 years 9 weeks behind with 0 connections to network. What to do?

You can try to delete the peers.dat in the app data directory. Then do a re sync.

Our blockchain is that old, so that is normal as well.  I am surprised you aren't getting peers though.  I literally have set up from scratch the Terracoin-QT wallet at least 30 times in the past 3 months (testing testing testing), and haven't had any issue finding peers.  This is from a completely empty %appdata% install.  Did you let Terracoin-qt through your firewall?  It does take a couple of minutes to find peers, but after that it should sync fine.

If not, you still can manually add peers through the debug console.  Tool > Debug Console.

(A decentralized exchange)  I put in a high sell order so that we show up on their main markets page (https://markets.bisq.network/?market=trc_btc).  We want to get on more and more decentralized exchanges as times passes as this is the future of exchanges.  We also have been added to Barterdex but I haven't tested that yet.

After a year and a half Vircurex has updated their Terracoin wallet. You can get your Terracoin off of there now! https://vircurex.com/welcome/index?alt=btc&base=trc&locale=en  Looks like someone already picked up the cheap TRC.  I am not sure if I would keep your Terracoin on there in the future since their support has been MIA for almost a year.
