What percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020

It is really hard to say but i would say 15% at maximum,and this number is still really big.
You cannot expect that people that are poor may have some bitcoins,they will probably never know about it.

I think it would reach 40% at least; i live in Botswana; its a country in southern region of Africa; a woman has made endeavors to make Bitcoin known by Botswana citizens. She was quite successful and i have noticed that most people aren't surprised to hear about it. They have even set up a Bitcoin ATM within the capital city; its only one but it's a start.

Who owns bitcoin is totally depends upon what people think about it . how much success bitcoin will get and how soon markets start accepting bitcoin as a alternative payment methods and also how government are going to react about high usage of bitcoin so it  is not possible to predict how many people will join bitcoin till 2020...

You are right, therefore as early adopters we should take this opportunity to use bitcoins and even consider it as our investment, true that all people cannot use bitcoins due to its supply but we can make the majority adopt and that would bring the price to the moon.

Of course it requires a lot of time before we can see a massive adoption with bitcoins, government can easily make any laws the prevent the usage of bitcoins if they feel treated that their currency will be overpower by bitcoins so it is still very risky for the people to use and trust their hard earned money with bitcoins.

The percentage of people on Earth that will own Bitcoin by 2020 is quite hard to predict.  But considering the development, probably it willl at least reach 20% of global population.  Reason is that, tri media is now being used not only for bad press but for broadcasting  good deeds done with bitcoin.  And Internet range will be much broader and much more accessible than  years ago.

It is not just 10% dude, I think more than your projection as this year alone even without so much good news about adoption the price have already increase 100% more or less and how much more if huge merchants will be adopting bitcoins also.

Shortage in supply will be felt therefore the whales will make everything to increase the price so they can make so much money.
