What percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020

I think 10% of the population of the earth are using bitcoin.

10 percent is possible. To think that 2020 is four years from now, I am optimistic that we can reach that percentage. If not, its nearing to that number as we know, more and more sites are offering bitcoin and even big companies are adopting it.

You are too optimistic, imagine what would be the price then. If that will happen then I will be a millionaire at an early age. I believe it would not because that is just four years and the adoption rate is not that fast.

I don't think that it is going to happen that the 10% of worlds population will able to use bitcoin and adopt on 2020.

For the possible number would be 1%-5% only but if the big companies who are being used by majority people are going to endorse and adopt bitcoin.

Then that is going to be possible to 8%.

Almost 5-10% of the people will get into the bitcoin as well other digital currency usage and around 20-25% of the population gets aware about the existence of digital currency which at present scenario is very low.

I think we are still 1% of the total world population now and it will be a long waif before we can achieve that level. But you know what? I am willing to wait as long as that will be realize, as I will be collecting profits from my investment (long term).

I hope you are right because the moment the population of bitcoin adopters will increase the more our investments will grow but that is too unrealistic and from 1%, we cannot grow that fast.. But who knows, nothing is impossible in this world, hope you are right again.

You're right, it's all guesswork, but even if 1% of the global population will be using bitcoin by 2020, that would be a massive achievement and it's price is destined to grow if not soar in that case. Anyway, we'll see what happens as such impressive growth won't happen overnight anyway.

You're right, 14 years i think is too a short a time for people to get used to something they're not accustomed to. Highly possible though that bitcoin would have a considerable increase in awareness then. People will know more about bitcoin but the use is not  going to be that much yet

Yup there are no accurate data that can give us the full number of people who really using now in the world and its really hard to us to compute how much them now are using and then not using not just because of bitcoin wallet we can determine them how about those people who uses multi bitcoin address right? but in the near future why not and count the real population of bitcoin users.

That's overly optimistic. Bitcoin won't grow that fast, because the infrastructure is not yet ready to support this. Another huge problem is the lack an easy way to buy the currency. Maybe I'm overly pessimistic but I would consider anything around 1% a huge success. However in case we enter a fiat currency crisis with huge inflation for USD / EUR, Bitcoin adoption might occur much faster.

Still, Bitcoin adoption in the emerging markets remains a big question. My estimation could be entirely wrong if India and China see increased adoption, because these two countries alone have 2.5 Billion people. Out of the two, I would consider India a first mover, because they have a less oppressive form of government that is also encouraging technological growth.

It is actually not possible to predict anything at all because of the fact that we don't know right now if how much percentage of the world is owning or using bitcoins.
But still as an estimate i have selected 20-30 percent because i feel that the growing users database would probably make it reach that extent by then.
