What percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020

I guess by that time if we continue to improve the popularity of Bitcoin, we can expect to have 60% of people to hold Bitcoin. But if the governments would produce their own cryptocurrency this would result to a great decline in Bitcoin and the number of people holding Bitcoin will drop enourmously. I do hope we reach a point where Bitcoin or a cryptocurrency would be the main payment method.

The people that would migrate from using bitcoin into using the government's cryptocurrency are those people that never actually understand the whole point of bitcoin. Bitcoin was meant to avoid the disadvantages that we get by using the government's currency, namely, fiat. The government cryptocurrency will surely have tax, something that we all don't want. The majority of bitcoin users are aware of those facts and that means there wouldn't be an enormous movement that will happen.

Also, your money in Paypal, or any digital currency in USD form can already be considered as government's cryptocurrency because it's fiat just in digital form.

I think a higher percentage of people will be using Bitcoin. In reality, I believe that at the present time many people are already aware of Bitcoin, but many do not have enough incentive to use it, since there is a small number of places to spend it. But gradually things are changing, and in 2022 this will certainly be different.

Some country forbid bitcoin usage since they afraid that bitcoin can be use for terorism activity or other money laundry.
I can say , there still a less than 1% / 2%. But still it's not impossible for making all people know bitcoin , if we keep shouting bitcoin power everyday , one day people will interest bitcoin more often

The first one is the case of bitcoin will continue to grow and get more popular and useful. In this case by 2020 year around 80-90% of people can move on using bitcoin. The second is that bitcoin will be ruined with couple of hacking attacts and people will be afraid to invest in this and it will provoke to price go down. So to 2020 year it will stay only 2% of the most strongest believers. And the third is that nothing will change too big to 2020 year and the number of users will change a little with today's number, change in positive way.

that's too dreamy indeed. if 60% of people around the world will own bitcoin in the future it's mean that 6 person out of 10 will be using bitcoin and that must be very usual thing when paying things with bitcoin because almost in every places you will meet people who use bitcoin. even many popular fiat still under that amount

well we both believe in bitcoin and all the benefits it can give but I think 4 years would be too short a time for most people even be aware and have access to bitcoin much more to own it. there are some countries that have limited online access and we all know that bitcoin is an online currency. more people would be using it after 4 years that's for sure but I don't think it would be almost half the earth's population

Yeah my thought is the same it's less than 40 percent. The popularity of bitcoin is not that much when it comes to rural areas in some countries. We have to think that most countries are not rich when it comes to technology.. but if we could influence others and try to introduce the benefits of having a bitcoin.. little by little it will be popular and more people will be involve in bitcoins in the future.

Yeah, the government will not allow this to happen. And besides bitcoin cannot be control by the government unless those whales will let them the government to buy their bulks of bitcoins that they are holding. For the time span of 2020 is not even enough to make the government trigger and be threaten about bitcoin.

The government does not need to have bitcoins to bitcoins to be able to control it, they are only in charge of regulating it and nothing more. But still people who invested especially the whales has all the right to do with their accounts as long as it's within the laws of the government.

Time flies and we are almost at 2017 and the number of people I know who are using bitcoins did not multiply too much. I have some friends who have shown interest in bitcoin but only a few are consistently active. The same can be said of the general public which doesn't even know what bitcoin is and what it does. If by 2020, we see news of bitcoin in the TV and radio, that means we have taken steps in making it known by a wider audience and a lot more people are being interested with it.

Great, you have a nice target for the coming years, that's definitely a great for the years to come. Maybe we can target at least an adoption of 1% per month of the total world population. Now the year of 2020 is not far away, after 4 years it will be come, So if we see clearly, now only a few people are using the bitcoin, so after 4 years only few number will be increased but sure, but the users of the bitcoin mustily increased, the percentage will be 0-5. Because bitcoin has a lot qualities in it, which people want and demand, but main reason is that so many people have no knowledge about the bitcoin, I mean lack of publicity of bitcoin.
