Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

Forget about running Windows from USB, it's extremely SLOW
NOT at all. Dunno why you say so.

Linux isn't the only one that can do that.
Thanks! Good version for GPU mining. Can't start quark mining on CPU, though. Anybody knows how to fix that?
