One more step towards mainstream I would say.If some global giant like Google has something good to say about something, many would obviously take interest in it but for bitcoin to become mainstream,it has to go a long way

The most interest part is it is being pushed towards 1.5M+ devs. If even 1% of them gets introduced to bitcoin through this, it is a gain.

... Denker (nice catch!) and above commenters If Google takes to Bitcoin in any kind of a big way, that is indeed "YUUUGE", that would get a lot of smart minds hard at work making more products and services that would of use. Google might even find a way to get into eBay's space too (for example). Let's see if this is a major development, I can only think that it IS meaningful. I would like to see more reactions (not just here, but in the marketplace) as well. EDIT: Mmm, Google also has a LOT of computational power "up there" in The Cloud. Hmm, maybe they might mine.......?

Those are great news indeed but I don't read too much into it. I didn't get future development or Google implementation from that just some admiration which is great but far from Bitcoin taking over Google in the Play Store hehe. With Bitcoin one never knows, I still feel there are a lot of negative issues surrounding it and it needs a lot of good vibes if it truly wants another chance to go mainstream.

I would love to see bitcoin as mainstream as gmail. They should work together to achieve this.

Google over Apple in helping us grow. Think google would build around it offer supporting products. Apple would stifle and push its own after a set time.

Great news, if only some of the google developers that follow this account join to bitcoin ecosystem ... Also i think that users that follow this account have read anything about bitcoin before, and this tweet and video could grow its interest on bitcoin.

Nice! There's a few technical errors, but other than that, it's an all around good for exposure. (It's always refreshing not to only get reporting on the negative stuff bitcoin is used for)

Very interesting. It's nice to see developers from the world's largest software company being excited about BTC. I wonder what's next. If Google could pay the webmasters who have an Adsense account with BTC, that would be fantastic. Am I dreaming, or is it possible?

Brilliant video, good to have more positive exposure instead of the lately large amount of negative aspects within the media.

Nice to see, it can bring people to try and learn about it. Well 213 retweets and 206 favorites, it's not bad.

Although few points were tad wrong, overall it was a good video and it seems google have set their eyes on BTCitcoin now (or will soon). Imagine them integrating BTCitcoin in any of their services. It will make a huge impact in terms of user base and would keep on increasing the demand over it's supply in this could bring it's value up. Another thing would be, IIRC, they do have a lot of computing power (literally could turn the whole mining process into centralized one if they decide to mine BTCitcoin with all the power they got).

That seems good. He gives a overview about the nature as well the technology that runs behind the bitcoin. Soon they might come up adopting bitcoin. We can have follow up ads over the coming days on various topics.

wow google finally learning 6 year old science
maybe next google will say that invention of wheel will benefit humans too
bitcoin is just paper2.0
helping humans to keep better records, memory, history, etc
banning bitcoin is the same as banning books (records)
You have to realize that giant corporations can not as easily embrace a new technology than an individual can. Even if they wanted to do it 6 years ago, there is way too much risk involved. Let alone that they would need to convince the board of directors and investors around the world that this is something to put millions in development in.. By now bitcoin has proven its worth and they can start entering the field.

this is exactly what we need more positive showing in some kind of mainstream forum. more people need to see what bitcoins is and what its good for , not the shit they post in mainstream media to satisfy the banks and other people that dont want bitcoins to succeed.

Wow, this is the best news for me today! Is this one of the reasons for the new wave of price increase? Google keeps an eye on crypto for quite a while (I remember the April 1st Dogengineer ad some years ago too), telling good things about Bitcoins on such a channel is a very big thing.
