Hello everybody. I dont know for you, but i will never again use Xapo wallet or Coinbase wallet etc...
Maybe im not first who say that about some this wallet but some ifnromation about this wallet you can check here.
https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Xapo and coinbase can freeze your bitcoin, spend etc.. without your permission.
I research and i think that  BitGo is the best wallet for your bitcoin.
You have a lot of secure option for your account and for your wallet into your account and i love that very much. Also BitGo cant freeze your money.Only you have control.

That is now from me Cheesy

Maybe its time you stop using web wallets and try desktop wallets such as Electrum, which are much safer than any web wallet. Actually this has been suggested a lot but no body seem to listen.

Bitgo is all right but with all the online wallets, it isn't secure enough. During the creation, even though 2 of 3 keys that are needed are created client side in the browser, malware can potentially capture the keys and thus having full access to the keys. Bitgo could also potentially change the code such that the site automatically sends the keys to the server without the user's knowledge.

That being said, hardware wallets or even raspberry pi with electrum, paired with electrum on an online computer would be a much better solution.

I dont understand why but I see this all the time. People, dont use web wallets!

Large amounts of Bitcoin and/or any coins I want to hold for awhile I keep in paper wallets. Any smaller amounts or what I plan to spend soon I move to wallets on my PC. The only time I keep coins on an online wallet is right after I buy them and they dont stay there long.

Look at my post. I clearly explained that online wallets are much worst than desktop wallets. If you get a malware on your desktop, your online wallet will also get compromised. Insurance for online wallets do not cover loss due to user's incompetence.

I don't get this either... What is everybody's fascination with web wallets. I can understand if people want to keep $20-$50 in BTC on an android wallet in case they have the chance to buy a hamburger with bitcoins or something. But other than that, all your coins should be securely stored (IMHO)

OP: the two safest options are paper wallets and hardware wallets (and maybe offline wallets), followed by desktop wallets (like core, multibit HD, electrum).
Web wallets are not safe, no mather which one you chose!

Oh people will start to listen... After they lose some BTC using a web wallet! The only way to safely store your balance is in a wallet you can put your hand on. I.E. a desktop wallet, harware wallet, or paper wallet.

I'm still a noob and trying to get up to speed. I've been using Armory with a paper backup. I'm searching around for a new wallet as it seems as if Armory may be having troubles. (I want to full research things before the proverbial sh!t hits the fan.) Am I missing the point about using a wallet like Armory?  I thought that worked as a cold storage and that all you needed to do was to keep the blockchain up to date by running it once a week or so?

I tend to be that way too when I'm a noob. Google is a great way to find information. Also, browsing these forums and reading about Bitcoin before using it is a very wise thing to do. I use Blockchain.info, but the more Bitcoins I get, I'm going to switch over to paper wallets.

Signatures? How about learning a skill... I don't care either way. Everybody has to make a living somehow.

I've used several different wallets over the years, both on my Android phone and on my computer.  It took me a long time to buy a hardware wallet, but I finally bought a Ledger nano.  It was cheap and it works great.  I can't believe I didn't go this route sooner.  You can buy their cheapest hardware wallet for around $15 and it will keep your bitcoin safe.

I use xapo most because I find very easy to use. But understand that people want to be sure they don't run with your BTC. I like also http://breadwallet.com they have cold storage.

If its Electrum and you have the seed in a different PC, or storage HDD external or USB, you can recover your money. I am speaking for much safer environment than Windows. If you haven't saved your seed and haven't add a strong password, its your fault that your coins are gone then, but this scenario of a format pc and virus has slim chances to happen for example in Linux, Mac compared to windows.
