If even half of the fast food chains in the US accepted btc, I bet the price would sky rocket.
I don't see any correlation between acceptance by general services and bitcoin price. Care to explain?

As far as I got it, it is only one branch store what offers Bitcoin payment option. The franchise partner is probably a fan of Bitcoin. However, this does not mean Burger King is accepting Bitcoin in general. And I doubt that they will do in near future.

Every Burger King around me has been dinged for cleanliness and the last time I went through my burger tasted like hand soap. Thanks to that I stopped eating out and cut 20 pounds making my own food. Other aspect that will sound a bit bad is Burger King around me are owned mostly by people that English is a second language and ordering through a microphone is a headache.
But yeah good for bitcoin just to bad it was not Mcdonalds or Dominoes, think that would be way more of a bump.

this is a very cool news, i always like seeing these kind of news where a new service is starting to use bitcoin. i only hope that they don't come to regret it in the future because of lack of interest, long confirmation time, and also possible double spend.

Guys, I don't think this is all Burger Kings... it's a franchise. This is like saying "McDonald's now has video games!" when there's just one that has it and it's local to you. Franchisees are all different. One accepting BTC simply means the person that owns that specific one likes BTC.

yeah, that might be, but it is still a start. I think each and every one place that starts accepting bitcoin is one little step towards the future of bitcoin. all these businesses even small ones have a lot of customers who see a real life application for bitcoin instead of hearing an FUD news everyday in the media.

This would be nice if it caught on franchise-wide. Not that I eat a lot of fast food anymore (I used to eat it almost exclusively when I was in sales and on the road all the time), but still, it's a step in the right direction. Gotta love businesses catching on to the whole BTC idea!

This is just a start of popularity of bitcoin of some countries.. That's why some store accept bitcoin as payment.. And they know that bitcoin is the best to choose as investment.I hope more store can accept bitcoin as payment anywhere in the world. So that they can easily spread bitcoin how it works.. And i think this is the good way to attract people to use bitcoin as payment.....

This is not a huge company -- it's a franchise. Burger King has NOT started accepting BTC... a single owner of ONE of the tens of thousands of locations has. Two VERY different things.

Even if it is just a franchise this is outstanding visibility for bitcoin. I'm sure lots of people who visit Burger King have never heard much about bitcoin and so to see it being accepted in a mainstream outlet is a good thing!

I don't see any correlation between acceptance by general services and bitcoin price. Care to explain? The correlation lies in the demand of bitcoins from markets. Imagine: half of the fast food chains in all of the United States (which is a ridiculous amount) states that they accept bitcoin. Suddenly, that gives bitcoin more publicity and demand (from the chains) and would interest more people to join in the fun. Eventually, you have the general public being knowledgeable about bitcoin (even a little bit) as a payment option and perhaps some will delve deeper. This creates more trading opportunities... Plus, it could remove the negative media portrayal of how bitcoin is shifted at least a little bit.
