A teacher is being investigated by Austrian police for allegedly ignoring a 15-year-old girl’s cries of help as she was gang raped at school.

Six boys, then aged 15 and 16, have been charged with the attack at a secondary school in Graz and the investigation continues.

The Kleine Zeitung newspaper reported that the victim was raped in the medical room in May last year but did not report the abuse until she felt able to confide in a member of staff at a new school.

A police investigation has since revealed that it was not the only attack on the girl, who reportedly screamed as she was harassed by the same group of boys in the school toilets just two weeks before the rape.

“Students allegedly alerted her teacher and asked her to do something,” the Kleine Zeitung reported.

“Instead, she reportedly blamed the 15-year-old for turning up late to class.”

In addition to the teacher and suspected rapists, 11 people are being investigated for complicity in the crime or failure to help the victim.

The number includes an unknown number of schoolgirls who allegedly watched while she was raped.

That said, the latest news regarding the rape in Graz is that the perpetrators will be let off without any jail term. Since all the rapists were under the age of 18 years, they will be needed to do some community service. That is all. No punishment.

BTW... I don't think that France is having such laws right now. As per the European Union policies on human rights, minors should not be given prison sentences. They are to be "rehabilitated". Here rehabilitation means community service in most of the EU nations.

 There should be no jail time for these criminals even for these high school boys. they all know the law and knew to themselves that raping is a crime and no difference to any other crime since they still break the law, they should be executed. there are chances that they will do this or any kids under 18 who know those who raped this girls weren't punished will also do the same thing to some random girls.

Minors under 10-12 cant be persecuted by law depending on eu country.
Every one above can be jailed after juvenile penal law.
In germany this means up to 10 years. Im pretty sure austria has similar juvenile penal laws.

Hmm... No that's wrong. Minors have to get lowered sentences. Which seems logical. But jail is allowed for every minor above 13 years old. And I don't really see how an under 13 years old can make something terrible enough to deserve jail...
