I am trying to think about the reason behind your post. I also tried to research it but I did not found a single clue. Well storage is part of every kind of currency. It's important to be able to store value.

It is true that to be able for one currency to be adopted by people is to use it.  Which includes spending, selling, purchasing it.  Holding isn't part of it but investors try to hoard things to make it inflate in price. Which causes more problem than gain.  Only a few people can benefit from hoarding BTC, this is where rich get richer.
