I imported my priv key from a blockchain.info address that had 5 coins to a new bitcoin-qt wallet. I was able to send .1 btc to myself with no problems but then I tried to send out 4.4 to a different wallet and it never went through.

It seems that the transaction has not been broadcast, your client is fully synchronized?

The client shows your balance confirmed?

It was fully synced at the time, at the time it said I had 5 coins.

May want to try downloading the brainwallet.org source zip here https://github.com/brainwallet/brainwallet.github.com
Open index.html, select the transactions tab, and paste in your blockchain.info private key. See what the balance is after you click ok to downloading the transaction history.

I looked up that TXID and the to: address, and that amount never transferred, so it should still be at the original key.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

I tried using brainwallet but it shows the same balance as My Wallet does.

I did some digging and I believe this is the tx that messed everything up:
