I have a PAL (European) version for sale, also more than 10 games like Mario Kart, Super Mario World etc.

whats the difference? does it play games that are sold here in america? does it plug into our wall sockets?

The PAL version is different from the NTSC (USA) version, the cartridges for the PAL version are different.

Google it and see for your self.

so it turns out the SNES i was going to buy doesnt work. So im still in the market to buy one if anyone has one to sell.

There is a store by me that sells old consoles, I'm certain they will have one...I doubt you will be able to get it for $40 though, they refurbish them and get them in pretty nice condition.  If I think about it, I'll swing by and check out prices and get back to you with what you can expect to pay.
